Best Sydney Dealership?
Looking for advice. I bought my BMW second hand under warranty, and would like to get it serviced at a dealership in case anything needs replacing that should be covered under warranty. Recommendations?
Also for future reference if anyone jumps into this thread, feel free to recommend Sydney BMW dealerships for: 1) Sales 2) Servicing Cheers guys for any advice. |

You're going to get mixed reviews for all.
My suggestion is to go to 2 or 3 and ask to see their service dept, ask whatever questions you want. For the record, Trivett is brilliant for servicing (for me anyway). |

1- For sales its s no brainer, Trivett. (you can actually bargain with them and walk out smiling)
2- For service i use North Shore. They aren't bad. |

The dealers tend to treat you better if you return to the dealership where you bought your car (or in your case, where the car was originally purchased).
Mine was bought at Worthingtons Gosford, and I can't sing their praise enough. Totally worth the drive everytime since they'll always give me an interesting loaner to drive back down to Sydney.

For sales i had a very good experience at Trivett Classic. Very willing to negotiate. I will buy from them again no matter where i'm living in Sydney.
For service (haven't had one yet) will probably go to Canterbury BMW as they are my local.

Trivett seems nice enough though. For sales, just see who will give you the best price. Servicing, a bit trickier and 'luck of the draw' I guess. |

North Shore on the other hand...oh boy! One of there sales reps, a woman who quite frankly has got to be the most unenthusiastic sales rep in the industry. She can't help it though, she is ex Alto employee and has natural ability of having zero charm. Thank goodness for her colleague, he saved the day when i was enquiring about LCI X5's. |

I have found BMW Sydney Service and absolute "JOY" to deal with......
Sales team is nice on the other hand, not sure how their deals compare to others though. |

North shore service is average
They made me pay for fuel i used in the loaner (Sydney did not) when i went to pick up my car in the arvo i see the customers cars leaving the service office given a bootful upon exiting (actual service is done at another location down the road) I've followed Suj's advice and gone to Sydney to have my last vehicle check done and am happy so far |

Um... I just said Sydney wasn't so up tight as to measure how much fuel you use. Plus its more than a fleet of 320is. I doubt I would go back to service for anything major. They effed up a bloody audio install then faffed around for 10 months.

I bought my car from the BMW dealership at Chatswood/Artarmon on the Pacific Highway. Ask for Caroline, she will negotiate, i got a great deal. (though they had a sales quota that weekend, and i came in late on Sunday..)

When the dealership at Chatswood / Artarmon was BMW Sydney - North Shore, it was owned by BMW Aust, same as Rushcutters Bay. That came about because of the big bust up with Alto - very messy!!
When it was BMW Sydney, it was great for sales and service. People knew how to speak to clients, and knew their product very well. It's now owned by the same family group that owns Scotts Honda (and maybe Audi) in Artarmon. Since then, the sales manager has gone to Canterbury. Most (if not all) the service staff have turned over. The new group are pathetic - so officious. There's a woman there, and all she knows is the process - last time I got - "You know the rattle warranty is only 12 months, and since your car is older than that, we'll have to charge you for the time to isolate the rattle and fix it". Luckily I was able to point her at their own records which showed that they've had multiple attempts to fix it, and it stated within the 12 months. The point is, I've never had a response like that in 20 years of BMW ownership. She also did me a HUUUUGGGEEEE favor (only in her mind) by not charging me for fuel on a loaner - the deisel loaner travelled 12 kms while I had it. It seems like their SA's haven't been BMW mechanics - being an SA used to be a promotion for a mechanic that wanted to be client facing. So now all they do is administration. Any technical talk seems beyond them, unless they've picked it up somehow, or they just make up some BS to shut you up and get you out of there. I think I'm going to try somwhere else, but it seems they all have issues one way or another. |

I have to agree, measuring the amount of fuel is ridiculous. |
