Adjustable swaybars for 1M?
Are there adjustable swaybars on the market for the 1M? I'd love to be able to dial over or understeer in or out as it suites.....

I just finished dialing my car in. I originally had RD sway bars front and rear but the sway bars were way over kill. It made the car rather difficult to drive and really tail happy, even with the rear bar on soft. My rear RD bar actually snapped at the track and the car felt better. I am now running a Dinan Front and OEM rear bar and it is perfect. I recommend this option. |

I can't find any rear adjustable bars at all. With the stock suspension, (H&R springs) understeer is prevelent. I am thinking of getting Ohlins DFV coilovers. I don't want to do them separate and have to get an alignment twice.

Like what ilikebmxbikes said, there's no need to upgraded the rear sway bar just do the front.

Yes sir. My reasoning exactly. Now... I do not know how you guys are putting front bars on only and not getting a ton of understeer.

if you put a larger front bar without changing anything else, you would simply introduce understeer. I have changed tire sizes, suspension, control arms, bushings, weight, among other things which all influence the car and the front bar alone made for the best set up. With a rear bar on it was extremely prone to over steer.

I run no rear sway bar on my car. Quote:
The rule of a stiffer bar up front equals understeer is not completely set in stone with a MacPherson set-up. Last edited by redux; 10-28-2015 at 04:44 AM.. |

I love the stock wheels, and it is a street car only... so changing to a square setup is not an option for me. Unless the rears will fit on the front? I guess I'll get the Ohlins and go from there.

I'd consider leaving the stock bars, but upgrading to double adjustable struts/shocks and camber plates. Compression damping, and it's interaction with rebound, can have a significant affect on balance. Camber plates should help reduce understeer and excessive wear due to hard cornering. If you want reduced ride height and/or higher spring rates, going all the way to a full coilover upgrade may make sense. When properly configured, the dampeners should be matched to the new spring rates. |

Because it reduces front roll, which keeps the tire flatter, which increases front grip. With front strut, this is more important than the decrease in handling from the increase in front weight transfer.
