Photo Request: Your 1er on BMW Performance suspension

I'm thinking about getting the BMW Performance suspension for my 135is, but I'd love to see some photos of it installed.

You've seen some of these already...

IMO, perfect amount of drop. The ride is extremely comfortable as well.

Thanks guys. I think I'm sold. Did you have the dealer do the install?

I do not have a PS on my car - not yet. I want one though.

I think for the money it offers a very good value. Make sure you order the right springs, they are VIN specific to your car's options.

Just be careful Worra as they're saying it takes about 8.5 hours to install, so make sure you factor in those potential labor costs before you order it and realize it may cost a whopping amount just to put them in.

Also, my sense is you're thinking of keeping the runflats and spending that money to get the performance suspension? Or possibly doing both?

There's a whole suspension section on this forum that probably has plenty of pictures you're looking for. So don't be surprised if this thread gets moved or deleted.

Worra, I am researching this as well.

I too am looking for a little tighter and stiffer ride.

As soon as I get real numbers, I will PM you.

Fantastic, I appreciate it. I'm realistically looking to do it after the new year, but getting an idea of the price would really help.

That's dealer book time, they charge one hour per spring and per strut lmao. The suspension install on this car is no different than other BMW's which shouldn't take more than 3 hours with jack stands. If anything factor in the cost for a proper alignment afterwards. I plan to install m3 control arms at same time to save on time I don't need to get a 2nd alignment.

The quote I got from the dealer just for install was around 2k. I wanted to stay oem, but 2k labor just wasn't ideal. So I went with KW V1's instead.

2k in labor?! LOL yeah. If my dealer says that I'll just go elsewhere. Still think I'll get the oem parts though.

If you don't have a local indy place you know and trust, a couple people on here had HP Autowerks install them if you also want a nice excuse to have to drive down to Santa Barbara. They're a major forum sponsor and know our cars well. So, you may want to e-mail Harold there and see what they charge in labor. Actually, I just looked, and they're showing $120/hr, so you might want to find out how many hours they estimate. They might be quick too cause they've done it many times before on our cars.

Not sure what dealer labor rates are there, my dealer was $175/hr which sucked cause I had them install my stainless steel pedals for me before I took delivery since I'm a cripple.
