New Wheels

I guess USPS changed things when it come to shipping bulk items to APO... I was just quoted 356 usd to ship wheels to my APO box.

Anybody have any luck buying wheels local or a site that doesn't charge that much in shipping?

I really wanted V710's but no one has them in stock and don't have a ETA on when they will become available..

What? I think that's nuts. I had some wheels shipped from Tire Rack. They sent them US priority only costs like $68 for ALL four alloys in big boxes. I bet who you talked too doesn't or hasn't dealt with shipping to an APO. I would talk to them again.

Thats because they are quoting you the top level USPS.

Tell them to do either military rate or the other lower rate and add the $2 tracking number.

Really though, that sounds like a Fedex or UPS price.

Im really curious what I get quoted because im buying wheels right now too and waiting for an invoice.

It was around $160 for mine to get shipped USPS parcel post. It will take a while but that's the only option.

When I bought my wheels from another forum member, he got quoted $20 per box for priority. And they got here very quick.

I bought wheels from VMR last year. I can't remember the exact shipping cost but it wasn't that much. They ended up coming over space-a, I got them one at a time over the course of 2 months.

I feel robbed I ordered my wheels from mod bargains an my shipping was over 400 dollars. I've already paid but not too happy about is seeing what you guys paid. Mine are wheels with tires mounted so has to be in bigger boxes. Not sure if that makes a diff. Fml

Kleach try your luck with some local wheel shops there. I've just been around this wheel marry go round and was not fun. Basically except for vb3s which everyone has and I hate, nothing was in stock. All had to be ordered or made and most had no eta. Was waiting on sf71s over 4 months an got fed up as they still had no eta. Switched to forge stars and still waiting but they are in production at least and should arrive in about 6 weeks. Hopefully sense youre in Germany you will have more choices avaliable in a store with oem fitment. This cars whack offset makes buying wheels hard.

I actually placed a order with pyspeed and EAS but both don't have them in stock and have no ETA of when they will get more. EAS quoted me 356 for shipping from VMR...

Just got my paypal invoice and it has 312 for shipping.

Did a check on USPS and used rough estimates on box size and saw that the $78 per wheel that they are quoting has a standard post option of $31 a wheel.

I have sent a PM to them explaining this and asking them to change it to the standard post option with tracking number. We will see what they say. My estimates put it at $132 total or $33 per wheel with a tracking number.

Ill update when I get an answer.

So I found a local tuning shop here in Bamberg.. They have these for my car

http://www.barracudawheels.com/ba/de...k_polished.php
He wanted 910 euros(so like 1200 USD) and could have them here next week.

He said that I can have them painted a custom color for 80 euros a wheel(clear coat and all)

Has anybody heard of these before??

Thanks for mentioning EAS.

Might just purchase straight from them as I just filled out the info and their site is quoting me $100 for shipping.

Well, I just heard back from APEX directly and they said the 312 was wrong. They said it would actually be 198 if they have to use priority, but when they take them to USPS they will check on standard post which will only be 106. If it ends up being 106 they will just refund me the difference.

Not as terrible, but will be much more acceptable if they end up doing standard rate.

Im doing ARC8s btw...
