Blacked out "135i" on trunk...

Has anyone blacked out the 135i on thier trunk?? What did you use to color it?? Also can this be done without actually removing badge numbers (by maybe taping off really well around each??)...

Also can I see some pics! thanks

I personally thing body colored emblems look like someone did a shoddy paint job and forgot to remove the emblems.

I do, however, like the black pearl style ones. Very dark, but it looks cleaner I think.

Anyway, I'd buy a new pair whichever route, its easier that way.

i did mine. tape a square around the 135i as well is lines to show where each letter will go so you can line it up again after.
take it off by cutting through the old 3mtape behind it with thread or dental floss.
clean all the old 3m off the back of the emblem as well as the trunk
spray the emblem with PLASTI-DIP (its rubberized paint and works really well, it wont chip, get it at home depot)
reinstall with new 3m adhesive tape.

Hey Al,

I did the matte black emblems we carry on my car because I have matte front grills and wheels so it worked well with the theme. We also do them in gloss black if you prefer to do gloss black accents.

^^ Very nice... I think I may be going with matte black since my wheels are a lower gloss black...

Bimmian does a great job for cheap. I got the gloss black to match the gloss on the shadowline pkg. Looks sick. I also installed a gloss diffuser where the grey one is on the bottom bumper. Gravity Auto makes this. Fits perfect and installs in about 5 minutes.

Cheers!
