no 1ers spotted on my home visit
I was talking to a co-worker about my trip to Lexington, Kentucky (GO CATS!) a few weeks ago when I realized in the entire 2 weeks I was home I didn't see a single 1er. Tons of 3ers but no 1ers. After living in Weisbaden where every other car is a 1er hatchback it was kind of funny to me.
That is all. |

I'm just going to turn this into my own random thoughts thread.
Just got confirmation that my wheel order has been processed!!! After a week of trading emails and phone calls with the West Coast (of the US) my first thought is: |

I had a similar experience last year when I drove around 10,000 miles thru Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida, I think 1 or 2 1series on military bases and about 7-8 3series on the open road, mostly E36 and E46s. Totally surprised at the lack of 1series on the road.
I definitely saw more hummers than BMWs as we took note of this fact and counted both.

For that shot of the t-shirt (need to mirror it ) you now have contact with a new family in Lexington.

I just got back from a TDY to Maryland and saw 1 1er the whole week I was there. It was weird not seeing 30 or so a day. After drivin a Toy corolla for a week it was so nice hopping back in the 1er, especially with the new PSS's on it!!!!

I'll probably end up back in DC when my tour is up. Good to know I won't be one of a million.
It just occurred to me that I can't change my winter wheels as there is no jack in the 135. Guess I need to buy a jack... |

I was originally debating between a new SS or a 135i. I went 1er because I figured every kid in the states would have an SS by the time I PCS'ed back... I love it when I make wise decisions

I just spent 10 days back in the U.S.
- I remember seeing a single 1er, maybe 1 E88? - I took an extended 45min test drive in Colorado Springs with a 2012 328i. Sadly gone is the wonderful growl produced by the N52. - The sales rep said he only sells about one or two 1ers per month at best. - I think the 1er is going to be discontinued here in North America. The only thing going for it is more convertables are sold & may keep the coupe alive.

I would never get a 1er convertible, there are too many options out there and I think are much better for the same or less money. Can I say that on a BMW forum? Guess that shows how out of touch I am with the US market...

The 1 is the only RWD vehicle in it's segment. I am also willing to bet females make the majority of purchasers for the vert. So thanks to the ladies for keeping it around. I still dont see it being offered in the U.S. for much longer.

Not sure if we are still discussing 1series sightings, but today at DTM at Hockenheim I saw a total of three 1Ms (all three colors) not including mine and two M1s...go figure.

Nice shirt.
Spotting M cars at DTM is gonna be "fishing in a barrel" this season I think.
