Dyno - Map 7 - N55 - 360whp, 444wtq
We made it to the dyno this past Friday. I started with a couple map 5 pulls running about E40. Timing was all over. I figured this would happen on the dyno. My friend talked me into trying a map 7 run. Reluctantly I gave it a try. Timing on the gauge hijacking looked perfect. Power was crazy and smooth. It has to be close to blowing its top though. Look at those AFRs. Maybe fueling is becoming a problem? Not sure.

+1 for a log you seem to be running lean

it does but this is leaner than what it should be. i run e65 with map 7 and my afr is richer than this.

You would be a lot safer running Map 7 on 100% 100 octane.

When looking at Ethanol blends it is much easier to think in terms of lambda rather than AFRs. In this instance, at peak torque the engine is running at lambda or leaner and that is bad juju. Get a log to confirm the LPFP is keeping up but this is probably the result of not having flashed the DME with an appropriate fuel scalar.

Could just be a bad reading, too. Is that from the ECU or a wideband stuck in the muffler in a car that has catalytic converters still in place?
Otherwise yes, looks like it's really lean, but I'm surprised it isn't causing issues with the power curve.

It's a reading from a wide band in the exhaust. I certainly don't plan on running a map like this as a daily but it was an interesting experiment. I was mostly surprised to see no noticeable timing drops as the run went on. Again, I can't be sure because I was just staring at the timing on oil gauge. I still haven't gotten a chance to get my car out and log. I'll update as soon as I can. Need to convince the old lady to let me out of the house for a while. haha.

It does. I'm running an N54 midpipe.

Due to the flow volume and high octane you can run leaner lambda on ethanol than gas to start, plus the catalytic converters, could mean you are just fine in the cylinder.

Interesting. Thanks. For some reason I was thinking it was the other way around. I was thinking lower ratios were better and safer with ethanol mixes. Still need to log. Busy busy. Haha

With the tail sniffer, this is common. Would definitely echo the others and log. However, I don't suspect you're running out of fuel as that will normally result in your AFRs trending up....I don't see that in your dyno and they continue to trend down.
You're also an N55, which seems to have a lean spool.

Looks like you guys are right about the sniffer reading a bit high. I went out logging. I didn't have the guts to do a map 7 log but here's a map 5 and then map 2 log. On my last fill up I put in 5.1 gal of E85 and 7.8 gal of 93. Map 5 on my car is about 10whp and 20wtq lower than map 7.
Map 5 Map 2
