OP.... please add IND to the cosmetic modification section. They have color matched my grills and side markers.

Seems as though the stock 135i gets a huge benefit from tunes (80-100hp) rather than the 20-30hp benefits from the 1M tunes?
You have to understand that the 1M had a serious tune on it from the factory. The rated hp on the stock 1M is 335hp, but my 1M dyno'd at 315hp at the wheels. This would mean roughly a 6% loss in drivetrain which is most likely not realistic. That being said the dyno on a stock 135 will be less than 300hp, so when you add 80-100hp from a tune then the new dyno numbers should put you very close to the same numbers for the 1M tune.

All that said, the 1M is a fricken blast to drive and with a tune it is even more fun!

I don't see any information on the cosmetic mods for the 1M.
I did see them on your car but not on their site.

Clearmask/Lamin-x for fenders?

Hi guys.

My AW is at the dealership right now.
I'm going to be putting the Lamin-x on the front.

My CA and one of the inventory managers were noting that it might be worth putting some coverings around the fenders and behind the wheel-wells to protect the body from gravel.

Anybody done this?

I'll post a write-up when and if we are able to do it.

I believe Dan Parker has done this.

New Dinan Stage 2 Ecu Mod.

Dinan came out with the mod end of last week and I put it on this Monday. Dinan skipped the State 1 since they said BMW had already provided that with the car stock. I had the Dinan Stage 2 on my 2008 335I and loved it. The new ECU mod for the 1M has the same performance specs 380 hp and 415 torque. I just left Willow Springs Race Way after doing 5 thirty minute sessions. I was on the track two months earlier and I can tell you the difference since doing the Stage 2 is amazing. There is no maximum seconds of over boost, it comes on earlier and last to the top of the rev curve. A very light increase in pressure on the pedal when in a high speed curve still provides more power and acceleration on a smooth exit like in turn 2 and 8. The warranty match also seals the deal for me.

Dear Biglare,

Can you please elaborate more on the ESS DirectFlash Stage I you have on your 1M.

I just got my 1M and i am interested to purchase the ESS ECU application. They promised: 400 HP and 550 NM of Torque. (thats on the flywheel not the Rear Wheels right ? )

how easy is the ESS DirectFlash to download tuned software ?

How is the Fuel efficiency now in your 1M ?

Having engaged the overboost all the time (550Nm) wouldn’t that cause damage to the engine ?

Sorry for those many Qs , i am just excited about tuning my 1M.

Did you try to install a bigger intercooler and turbo downpipe ? or a cold air intake system ?

Best regards,

Rakony
