This one takes the cake. Keep your 1er dude!!! F10 5 is gorgeous, but big and cumbersome...imo.

Talking on the phone while trying to park my car and Boom hit and scratched my rear left rim on the curb.

I second 135Pats comments, if it's car you have wanted all the time; do not sell the 1er and get a 535. I had a E60 535 back in 2008 and, while it was a comfortable car, it certainly wasn't a real "fun" machine and was on the large side. Since the E60, the 5 Series has gone even larger, and, I hear, even less fun to drive.

Resist the urge.

Trading-in my 2009 135i for an Audi A5 in 2010. I rectified the mistake this year and purchased a 2012 135i.

I did this too. I thought it was wet enough but there were seeds in the purple poop.

My mother in law has a brand new Prius with 3200 miles on it. There are parallel scratches along the drivers side of the car from her motor scooter. She doesn't care.

Fortunately it's a Prius, so no loss there.

Trying to open up the hood with the windsheild wipers folded out to clean the windshield.
First mars on the finish of my baby, I was devistated. Fortunately it's on the back edge of the hood so only I can see them.

I've done the EXACT same thing. Scuffs on my hood and marks on the wipers. Then another time I was working on my car and left a socket under my hood and closed my hood. Left a pretty nasty lump.

Again, not me, and not a 1-er, but there was a story on the news recently of a guy at Hooters who loaned his 2000 740iL to a couple who said their car had broken down on the way to a wedding, and ....well, you can probably see where this is going: Have You Seen This Car?

THAT should make you feel better about any stupid thing you've done to your car!

This thread is like a confession booth and group therapy rolled into one.

For me, hitting a curb and scratched the front wheel while turning around at a gas station.

Wait, where is it?

It's in the center of the dash just below the emergency flasher button. BTW, I had the same experience trying to find the unlock button for the first time and finally just used the key fob to let the wife in the car. But now I know where the unlock button is.

I had a 2004 WRX that was only about 6 months old. I was mowing the lawn and took the lock off the gate right next to the garage. The very last section I mowed was where I had dropped the lock in the grass. I heard a very large KAPOW! and I stopped the mower. The blade sent the lock into the left rear quarter panel and then it richocet off the garage ceiling and landed on the hood(which was aluminium). Two nice dents. Some time latter my wife's isuzu rodeo was parked next to the same gate. She was parked really close and when I opened it a gust of wind blew the gate handle into here right back quarter panel.

Allowing the dealer to detail my brand new 135i before delivery. Gotta love the dealer-installed swirl marks in otherwise flawless LeMans Blue paint!

Dealer delivery in general is a pretty dumb move. Performance center is the only way to go.

I'd have given a lot to be able to do PCD. Just can't be away from my practice on short notice and I didn't want to wait another 2-3 weeks for the car.

That sucks, the experience is pretty amazing down there. You get the car swirl and joyride free, and then go about beating on an identical version on their track to get a taste of the limits.

My salesman told me that a woman did Euro delivery, and showed up only to find out she had mistakenly ordered a stick, not an automatic. She couldn't drive stick. BMW loaner her an automatic for her stay in Germany, and built her a new car.
