gratuitous crimson red photos

Just wanted to post a few photos and say hello to the board. I've been reading for about a month while I waited to take delivery of my 135 coupe. Lots of knowledge here, and I'm looking forward to contributing as I can.

My car is a July build: crimson red, black corinthian leather, sport, active steering, high-gloss black trim, stronger electricity supply (what?), iPod/USB, BMW Assist, HD radio (really, this seems useless), and Premium hifi.

It's really a hoot to drive around. Torque everywhere, minimal understeer, good interior packaging. A few initial surprises: unlit vanity mirrors, unlit shift knob, random condensation on the dashboard, and a bigger-than-expected trunk.

Great choice of color. Your windows have a darker tint on than mine or maybe cuz your interior is black. It looks great!! Mine is a June build car and I have the same thing on the sticker: stronger electricity supply...lol?

Thanks guys. I'm planning on CDV delete as soon as I get around to it. Wheels and tires when these runflats wear out (probably a square CCW setup, 245 all round would be nice, but I'm unsure how wider front rubber would interact with active steering). Rear sway and springs also at some point before 10k miles. An interior armrest delete would also be really nice, just like for the E46.

Compared to the E46 M3s, this car drives smaller, if that makes sense. Steering is faster so the car seems more tossable, more eager to change direction. Throttle response is delayed, and that seems to exacerbate the boost lag; it's tough to drive very smoothly through 50-80mph traffic. Suspension is clearly tuned for comfort, soaks up bumps easily, rolls a fair amount through turns. Interior is more intimate. Vinyl seats don't really breathe.

Earlier this week, a white 135 coupe pulled up next to me (also debadged!) and I waved hello. On one hand it's nice to see other people also enjoying the car; on the other hand, I think the 1er is on its way to becoming the Miami Civic, just like the 3er is the Miami Accord

The garage is in downtown Coral Gables.

Alext: maybe you know something that I don't know. I was just surprised to see non-lit vanity mirrors and a non-lit shift knob in my car. Maybe those are premium-package items.
