Only manual and DCT 135s are welded, and a few early 135i manuals are bolt(2007 production).

Bigger pumpkin is always better for not burning out.

You can use Auto pumpkin, a recent e90post thread discussed the results of a 323i e90

I wouldn't want to use the 3.73 thoughI like my freeway fuel econ. And I thought that people said 10% change is preferred. So 3.23--> 3.46 or maybe max 3.64. I have even seen 3.38 in a thread on some 330i

Edit: LSD deals in the commercial forum:
Mfactory, a honda LSD specialist now offering Qualife style
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=943830
Wavetrack:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=600728

Lovely prices, currently they match. Unless a group buy happens for Mfactory

Any thoughts on swaybar upgrades.

Looking right now at Eibach 28mm. Reasonably priced.

I looked at whiteline, but it seemed like everyone and their mother complain about the rust.

Also saw the 32mm hotchkis, but dunno if it would be too stiff

I did eibach front and rear sways. I really like them. They're adjustable too so it's pretty easy to find the ideal setup.

The guy is saying that the nonM upper control arm/ thurst arm in the fron is the same as the //M part, and as such just needs bushing & ball joint to be //M

Do you think this is true?

I noticed when I swapped mine that the forgings had the same markings, just the part number ink stamped on them was different (well, and the obviously different bushings). Turner even sell both the M ($47.95/each) and Motorsport Group N ($413.38/set ) bushings as well as the stockers for $69.95/set.

Hey, just saw this post. It looks completely legit to me, but pressing the bushings likely will not be that simple. The arm is soft aluminum and likely will be a pain to swap without causing damage(even if you visually can't see the bend). That said, this is definitely promising, and with the right press should provide a much cheaper OE(instead of OEM) solution.

Apparently, the bushing needs to be compressed radially while pressing it in to the arm. I visualize they use something akin to a piston ring compressor, though probably hydraulic in nature.

Yeah, I didn't think it was going to be simple. This isn't going to be a cheap tool to make, though loaning it out could recoup on the investment.

A tube of slightly under the diameter of the hole in the arm, flaired at the inlet might work. You would put the tube over the arm and push the bushing through it into the arm (with a press). You'd also need a ram but that might be as simple as a piece of wooden dowel.

You need a way to also safely support the arm and spread the load in order to not deform it.

After riding my dual sport(400cc thumper) all weekend long and then hopping into my 128 this afternoon to drive to class, i gotta say the motor is sooo damn smooth. It always surprises me in the most pleasant way.

That's what impressed me the most about this engine. It's turbine smooth even compared to every BMW inline 6 I've ever owned -M20, M30, M50, S52, M52. I have another BMW with a buzzy 4 cylinder and as much as I love that car, everytime I gt back in to the 128, I can't help admire how smooth the engine feels and how the soundtrack, while muted, is devoid of buzzes, drones etc. wish it was a bit louder.

oh thats a given . I love cruising in 40-50 degree weather with the window down, and the heated seats on the highest setting. really makes for a nice cruise while listening to my beautiful exhaust note

I haven't had the chance to drive many BMW's or cars in general being that i'm only 20, but the n52 is certainly smoother than the n54, VW 2.0T, Chevy 5.3 v8, and my old 2.8 turbo diesel

Outside of a few select V12s, you will likely find it to be the smoothest engine you expierence. NA I6s are the second most naturally balanced engines, and the N52 represents the last itteration of them.

It's a shame that in the very near future the only options will be turbo car's.

Assuming they can't be swapped later, EPS. Nothing gets to me as much as an auto.
