Work VS-XX

Hey all,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a setup of wheels. I haven't seen many work wheels setups on this thread, so I'm wondering if anyone's got any thoughts on the following:

Wheels: Work VS-XX
Front: 19"x8.5", 40 offset
Rear: 19"x9.5", 45 offset (A disk)

For tires, I'm thinking: 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 based on what people have recommended on this thread for 19's.

I'm on stock suspension for now.

Will it rub? Any fitment problems you guys can think of?

Tires are way to big. fronts rims will work rears will give you trouble def need camber fender pull/ roll.

What if I were to put the 235 in the back and the factory 215 in the front? You think that might solve the issue?

I think you could get away with 215-35-19 up front and 245-30-19 out back.

Perfect you think I could pull a 235/35/19 rear?

Fronts should be pretty easy in that size depending on tire size....rears not sure

Hi guys, do you think 8.5x18 et35 will fit in our car paired with 235/40/18 Michelin PSS (square setup). My suspension is bone stock sport suspension, but I have Dinan camber plates to allow more negative camber up front. Pictures will be really helpful. Thanks!

With enough camber it would fit in the front, i.e. more than what you've got now. I highly doubt the back will fit.

Any approximation of how negative the front camber should be? I'm currently running -1.5 on all corner. Some people said the maximum I can fit without too much issue is 8.5x18 et45 with 245/35/18, isn't that mean my plan setup is 10mm outer (et45 to et35) but my tire is 10mm narrower as well? I know the profile of 235/40 is higher.

Hi guys, can I fit 8.5x18 et35 up front with 235/40/18 Michelin PSS? Currently on stock sport suspension and not lowered. I have Dinan camber plate that might allow me up to -2 degree of camber up front. Please let me know. Pictures of related spec are really appreciated. Thanks guys!

Wheels: Stock 261's

Front: Stock
Spacer: 10mm

Rear: Stock
Spacer: None

Tires:
Front Federal SS595 RSR 225/40/18
Rear Federal SS595 RSR 255/35/18

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:

ST Coilovers (from an E92)

Notes:

Had to use spacer on the front due to how close the tire was to the spring perch. It might have barely worked but I didn't want to chance it. These tires definitely run wider than most. The section width on the 225's was 231 and on the 255's it was 261. To they eye they looked even bigger than that. Grip is excellent for this price range. I'll edit with pictures when it stops raining!

Running 235/40/18 MPSS with ET45 and no rub inside or outside. I too have Dinan plates dialed in at -1.5. Also running BMWP springs (very subtle drop). Don't know for sure if et35 will cause you to rub on the outside.

Get the Dinan camber plates for 150 shipped. That will get rid of all the rubbing.. I had the same issue but I rolled and pulled the fenders. I didn't have to if I would have got the plates first.

They are fixed and no road noise. Install was easy.

Wheels: E46 M3
Front: 8.5x18 et47
Rear: 9.5x18 et 26
Suspension: Stock with alignment by Imola Motorsports
-0.75 degree camber front
-0.50 degree camber rear
0 toe-in

Tires:
Bridgestone Potenzas RE960 AS pole Position

front: 225/45 - perfect fit, no rubbing under any conditions up to 2 occupants (have not tried more than 2 people in car)

rear: 255/40 - no rubbing on flat driving and slow curves, major rubbing on bumps and hard cornering. less rubbing with driver only (no passengers)

the tires are rubbing on the inside lip of the fender and catching the very corner of the shoulder of the tire. I beleive that a fender roll and shorter rubber will clear as there is only one part of the lip that is catching. The part of the fender that is rubbing is bent back now, you can only see it from the inside. but its bent a very small amount, which tells me that a full fender roll would allow them to clear. to be safe i plan to do the roll and use a 255/35. Ive posted some pics. I'll update next week when the new rubber is fitted.

I have some 255/35 Michelin PSS comming for the rears. I will mount them this weekend and do another test.

Looking through this thread, it doesn't show if people are running a 128i or a 135i and we all know they run way different types of specs without mods.

I'm looking at some 18x8.5 +35 square setup for my 128i, simple answer, will it rub or not?

Edit: will be lowered on eibach springs...

Edit #2: I just found a surprise! All 4 corners are already rolled! I guess to accommodate the bmw performance wheels that it came with when I bought it.

So with that being said, without pulling, what is the widest I can go and with what offset?

Yes, judging by a post two up from yours, they will fit. Although with 4mm less outer clearance you might require a rolling of the lip on the rear.

See the persons experience here:
