First 100 Miles of Joy
I picked up my AW 128/sport package/manual on Thursday and the first 100 miles have been amazing. This car has exceeded all of my expectations . The car looks so much better than it appears in photos. I was concerned about the look of the sport rims until I took delivery and the rims are HOT. The manual transmission is smooth as silk and the 230bhp engine is quite responsive from what I can tell in the break in period. The premium stereo sounds incredible especially when playing tunes from an IPOD. The sport seats are incredibly comfortable and have hug you like a warm woman on a cold night. Best of all, the car is a real head turner and the attention doesn't suck. Great car...great fun!!
Peace all! |

nice to see another 1 floating around LI. Congrats on the car...and when it gets broken in take it to the straightaway on Wantagh Parkway south of Merrick Road. Great spot for a quick topend run...

My first 100 miles were awesome, I took it out on Pacific Coast Highway and drove for nearly 3 hours straight.

Totally agree - freakin' amazing.
Picked mine up a little less than a week ago and WOW! Now I'm cursing that I only have a 10 mile commute to work. I need to find a longer route. |

Ohh, good God the roads here are crap. I look like a retard when I drive. I'm running a slalom through all of the holes. I just dart across to the sides on my lane...can't wait until I go to school in Texas.

I totally agree- got mine (like OP, AW 128i 6-MT sport package) two weeks ago, and I have been VERY impressed. THe car is a blast to drive, excellent acceleration, phenomenal steering, and great build quality. It is just awesome. Enjoy everyone!

Almost a year later and I still enjoy every drive to work in the morning. It displeases me greatly to get out of baby blue. It seems I always take a glance or two back just to get a wince of her beauty! Congrats on your new possession! Enjoy the "Ultimate Driving Machine"!

At least I get to stare at it all day long. Somehow it seems brighter then all the other cars in the lot. It's that special "1er glow". |

Ha Ha. I, too, park next to another guy at work who has a 335i, or next to a MB or new black Corvette. People I never even met before at work are coming up to me now--"nice ride." It is funny. And the other Bimmer folks are constantly talking to me like we are in a special club--I am learning things from them too. Too cool. ENJOY.

I'm at over 9k and I'm really happy with how its opened up in the last few 1000 miles. I feel it is definitely quicker now than when I got it. Also averaging over 25mpg on my commute.
