Plasti Dip Mirrors

Has anyone used plasti dip on their side mirrors? I searched the forum but couldn't find it. Probably wasn't searching properly! I saw a few posts that the mirror caps will pop off pretty easily. I want to do my mirrors and brake calipers red. Thinking I'll do the mirrors first with plasti dip and if it looks like crap I can just pull it off.

Yes i have done it myself on my e92.
Easy job. Just make sure you remove the mirror cap and plastidip them for a professional look.

Yeah. I did it on mine. Just removed the mirror caps and sprayed 3 coats of plasti dip (rattle can ones that you can buy from home depot). Turned out great. The hardest part was getting the mirror caps off, lol. The rest was easy.

Do they just pop off? I know it's not just that easy! Any pointers?

you have to gently pull mirror off then push the backs off through their locking ridges. its not hard, just be careful.

I used interior trim removal tools on mine. there's a DIY somewhere around here

Just get your nails in between the gap and pull. It took some force to get it off so don't be scared to put some muscle to it.

I don't think you can dip your calipers. It'll melt right off.

+1

I have heard that plastidip has held up good on exhaust tips tho. But brakes will get to hot for it.
