Buying a used car from BMW - pre-purchase inspection?

I am looking at buying a used 135i from a BMW dealership. It is not a "BMW Premium Selection" vehicle. Should I get an independent pre-purchase inspection done?

A PPI is usually a good way of negotiating a discount.

That said, premium selection cars are usually in good nick so they may not find much.

For what it's worth when I bought mine last year (privately), I got quoted $150 to $400 for a PPI.

I got the dealer I'm purchasing my car to send me the 100point check they do on the car, & got them to do a basic service before delivering the car.

Agreed. If purchasing from dealer, look for some form of warranty as part of the deal.

If no warranty exists, look at budgeting around $3000 in terms of maintenance (if taken to an indy) when things go wrong i.e. HPFP, spark plugs, coil packs, water pump + thermostat
