Talking My 2009 Crimson Red 135i Build/Picture Thread

Hi Everyone

I'd just like to introduce myself to the forum. I've had too much time off work over the holidays and convinced the wife to let me go look at a crimson red 135i. Long story short I ended up driving it home that day.

I will miss my R32 from time to time but I was looking for something that I could modify, and really wanted a faster car. I also recently owned a 2000 Audi B5 S4 that was stage 3, so I'm not 100% new to twin turbo platforms.

I've always had my eye on the bmw 135i and 335i. Really glad I bought the car and cant wait to start mods. I already ordered the BMS dual cone intake. Next I think I'll upgrade the charge pipe and then jb4. I'm defiantly excited to be a part of the forum and look forward to meeting some local members.

Pretty sure those are just the Bimmian Headlight Accents:

http://www.bimmian.com/HAO

Although the fact that it has an ECS Tuning rear plate frame suggests that it may already have other mods installed?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm loving the color, I think its what made the wife say yes so easily to the purchase.

Yea I noticed with the frosted tops of the light they look different from most I've seen in pics. I really like them but now you have me wondering about them.

Ah there you go, good to know what they are. ECS plate is from my VW/Audi days it didn't come with the car, but good eye!

Welcome, I had a MKV R32 as well and traded in for a 135i.. Wise move . You'll love it.. Just doesn't drive as good in the rain as the R32.

Very different vehicles. I would have to give the bmw huge props on the build quality of the interior. My R32 was fully loaded and had nav, the nav alone in the bmw is worlds better. As far as power goes the 135i is in another league. I also think the feeling of steering is better in the bmw. Launch control on the R32 was tons of fun with awd, always kept traction even in the hard Florida rain.

Cool to meet another past R32 owner. It was a little hard leaving my R32 behind at the dealer it was a great little car but the 135i is a better car all ways around. The day I purchased the 135i it was raining and you are right the R32 is much more solid footed in the rain.

Congrats on your new 135i! It's an awesome car!

I love your color. The paint is just beautiful! My favorite car color is red so I'm a little biased.

This is my 4th red car that I've owned. I somehow just end up looking at red cars haha

I really can't take credit for the pics. My buddy who owns the grey Golf R in the few pics took all the shots. He just got the Golf R too so it was nice to get out and get some pics together.

Ha being in Florida I never got to experience the R32 in the snow. I always wanted to take it on a trip up north I imagine in the snow it was a blast to drive?

And thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

Absolutely stunning. Crimson is my favorite color for the 1er. All she needs are some BMWP black kidneys! Nice find!

What an awesome color. The car looks fantastic. The dark tint is perfect and when you get the black grill it is really going to set it off.

How many pedals?

I agree I want to switch up the kidneys. Just not sure if I want to go all black or the chrome frame with the black vertical slats. I was so happy that the dealership kept the tint on the car. It's llumar tint so the original owner had a quality tint put on and the install job is fantastic, several of my friends have made comment of how nice the tint was installed. Also the car is auto done with manual cars for the time being.

Well yesterday I had some time on my hands so I went ahead and removed the kidney grill's and painted them with some plastidip I had laying around in the garage. Really happy with the way it came out! Sorry for the low quality pics.

Well got in my BMS Dual Cone intake today. Installed it at a friends house. I have to say for the price its a great looking intake. Simple to install and love to hear the turbos spooling! Well worth the money next up a stronger charge pipe!
