Did the Mod
I was reading around the forums over the weekend and found this thread/mod. As soon as I saw it it make total sense. Amazing on one little thing can make a difference. Anyway, I followed what guys on here said about using a dremel, fired mine up and Sunday and wala! Pictures below. Thanks for posting this mod!
Few details on me since I have not posted that much. I have had my 135i for less then a year and love it. I use it as my daily driver, although I work from home most of the time so it does not see a ton of road action. Details It's a 2012, all options including the M package (which I still can not figure out if that put a modified suspension vs. the regular 135i. Even the dealer was not sure. If you know please post) Just getting around to mods. So far and what is planned. Comments and feedback welcomed, I am new to BMW, used to have Porsche 911 C. Cosmetic * All the 135 badges are removed, I do that with all my cars, just like the look * Matte black grill. Already ordered and on the way. * This thread mod, not sure what to call it. But done. * White Angel Eye upgrade. Need to order that this week. * Custom Roundels Engine * Considering the Burger Stage 3 * BMC Performance Intake Exhaust * I really like the quad exhaust look. Read about a few options here, on the list, just not immediate. Suspension * Considering Dinan front and rear anti roll bars. I want to do something to take a little of the role out of the car. It handles well, but a higher speeds (65mph+) around turns, rolls a lot more then other cars I have had. I heard from some 1 owners that it is a characteristic of this car, but still would be nice to get a little of it out. Interior * Like to get some cool pedal covers. Suggestions welcomed. * Maybe carbon fiber break grip. Wheels/Tires * I have the stock run flats, suggestions welcomed, they feel like bricks. * Wheels have the upgrade wheels that come with the M package. I like them, but open to any suggestions. Was thinking of going black, just not sure brand. |

Well, there really isn't one since it's so easy. Just cut at the attachment of the horizontal piece. If you have the right tools its really quick and easy. I'd recommend cutting it out with heavy shears or snips and then sanding it smooth with a dremel. Took me about 30 minutes to do, another 10 to make it perfect I'd say.

I'm torn. Some pics I'm like that looks horrible. Others it looks okay.
It might be different colors, or maybe it only looks good from far away.
