First autocross with my 135i

I am getting pretty fired up! Saturday will be my first autocross with the car. It's completely stock except for the wheels, which throws off my classification. I have been autocrossing an '02 Miata for the past several years and intermittantly mixing in my '04 330i ZHP (sold) so obviously the 135 coupe will be a BIG change.

When I bought the car it only had rft winter tires on stock 18" style 264's. I found a used set of 17" Sparco Pistas with 1/2 worn Hankook V12's - not ideal but will have to do for now.

I'll report back afterwards, but I'm getting excited

Yeah, so it turns out that I'm not very good. In my miata I was a top 3-4 finisher in a crowded stock class. In the 135, not so much. It's going to take a lot of getting used to - both the weight and power. But it was fun as always, just hotter than hell.

Yeah. I would say. Took me a few runs to get a grip on how early and much to turn. Tires and camber would help, but yes.. Alot of understeer

The best co-drivers that I could find were the C5/C6 Corvette guys. The lesson that I learned with their help was to brake early, pace through the corners, and throttle when the car is in a perfectly straight line.
