Help finding part!

Ok parts guys/gals. Been looking for a specific battery for my 1er. My original battery has ~7 years on it and needs to be replaced.

I want to get something a little smaller,
A: because I want a little more space in the battery compartment,
B: because I'd like to save a little weight, and
C: I don't have any extra electrical kit and really dont need the huge OE battery spec.

But, I don't want the Braille/similar unit. No value in a DD that won't crank.

So I settled on the CSL/Mini Cooper battery. BUT I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE!
It doesn't have to be an OE BMW battery, I'm perfectly happy to get one from an auto parts store/interstate/other. But when I search for one based on the same specs, all I get are deep cycle marine batteries. Obviously not it.
Here's the kicker, its shorter, but fits stock attachment, and only weighs 32-35 pounds depending on the year.

Part #: 61217591081

I run a 21lb DEKA ETX-30l

Tests at around 375cca. Car has been turning over fine in single digit temps. I wouldn't recommend this battery for <0f though.

If you need help coding it, I wrote this comprehensive guide on how to register/code a battery:

Not every 135i uses the same OEM battery. Your battery will have higher or lower capacity based on how your car is equipped from the factory. For example, a lighting package, heated seats and warm weather configuration will require a battery with relative higher capacity. If you don't have those features, your car requires a battery with relative lower capacity.

I would advise caution if you are planning to buy an under-capacity battery simply to save 12 square inches and 3 pounds under the trunk floor.

Peace

Remove the brackets [] around spool.
Did that battery need a custom bracket? Thanks for the reply.

Not worried about it. Stock battery weighs over 50#, think that is more than a 3 pound delta, but man, who knows. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I bought a cheap generic bracket from a local part store. It just uses two j-hooks and a rubber strap across the top. They make one just for these size atv batteries. Just gotta drill a hole horizontally through the honeycomb sections that line the trunk.

The link works. Open it in a new tab and then remove the brackets. This site blocked the reference to spool street lol

I think every major city now has a store that specializes in all batteries. Ours here is called "Total Battery". These folks know batteries and may be able to help.

Interesting. 2 different sites that show that P/N Discontinued reference the Mini Cooper up to 01/2014.
Northstar and Batteries+Bulbs both recommend a Group 48 AGM battery for the 2013 Cooper.
Same as my '12 135i.

I went with the optional Group 94 AGM myself, but it's bigger and heavier, not smaller & lighter.

Exide says either a Group 47 or Group 48 for said Cooper and to check fit because manufacturer used various sizes in production.
(Group 47 is, on a Duracell Platinum, 1.5" shorter in length with same width and height, and about 6 lbs lighter.)

I'm sure it's available in a non-AGM that would be a couple lbs lighter, but hopefully that will point you in the right direction.
Looks like Interstate Group 47 AGM is also an H5-sized battery.
Good luck!

Looks like they also used those in all years of 116i, 118i and 120i, where those are available. Good choice!
