Bought Ultraracing braces and sway bars for my smart car. Not a single part actually fit without being heavily modified. The sway bars could not be made to fit no matter what I did.
Junk. |

People should search more. I practically didn't post for my first year with the car. So much to discover.
For braces there is a thread here where I talk about e88 front grille V brace and underbody braces and e92 front euro braces. These connect at front crush arm, front subframe using a pre Lci bracket that needs to be attached to subframe Otherwise we know about the m3 front strut brace kit from HPA. F R Sway bars can be called braces The e82 half cages are braces etc. EDIT E82 eDrive electric car apparently had some a frame on the underside http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...38&hg=51&fg=75

I never really thought the chassis needed any more stiffing, esp for dd (take it with a grain of salt as I'm coming from a 1998 m roadster and 1999 9-3 ). For the weekend racers, I've found the typical suspension remedies work wonders on the 135.
I think there is a bmw performance strut bar, but the merits of that under most driving conditions would probably not be very noticeable. |

The BMW chassis is plenty stiff. Short of adding a full cage, it's tough to really add stiffness if you are attaching parts to sheet metal.
You can add M3 strut tower brace fairly easy. |
