LCI Blacklines & Headlights

Hey guys, I've got a question. I just installed my blacklines (along with a replica performance spoiler) and everything with the taillights works great. But now for some reason, the inner headlights don't act the way they used to. For instance, they no longer illuminate when in reverse, or light up with turn signals/turning. Is this normal or do I need to reset something?

FYI the spoiler was from some Japanese place on Ebay. For $75 shipped and painted, I thought it would be worth a shot. It arrived in 3 days and is a perfect match to my paint and had zero fitment issues. No idea why someone would pay $400+ for the real one. They even do carbon fiber, but I wasn't into that.

Anyways, back on track.

Put your headlight switch in AUTO... then the inner headlamps will work like you described above. When off or manually on... the AHL are static(straight ahead) and will not follow the steering wheel inputs, and neither will the inner cornering lamps work in manual mode.

Yeah, that was the first thing I checked. But it still wasnt working. But I just drove it again and they are working normally? Weird... idk if they needed to reset or something with the car off for a while but its all good now!

I bought it a while ago... I'll have to go dig up the receipt but any of them will do and likely are the same exact thing.

damn....I keep saying I don't want to 'mod' my leased car but I think I may have to get blacklines....they look fantastic

+1. I thought I was done w/ mods. But then Gregthegr8 pointed out the Blacklines to me a while back. Still on my wish-list for now. Those look sweet, though.

there's a long thread in the cosmetic mod subforum about these cheap painted spoilers- it's probably on the first or second page. It seems like most of them have perfect fitment.

Yeah, and at a fraction of the cost of a "real" one. It's worth the risk. I also ordered one of these ebay knock-off "lip spoilers" for my previous e46 and it was a perfect fit and match. For stuff like this, I have no problems with ebay but for pretty much anything else, I won't risk it and I'll go OE.

Does the iS not come with LCI's? If it does, I would just grab some lamin-x film and "tint" them to the blackline effect. It would be a cheap test and could possibly save you some money.

If the car hasn't been started for a while some of the lights won't turn on anymore. This might be what you experienced?

Nah it was just off for the 30 mins or whatever it took to install the lights.

The "IS" comes with LCI, but not Blacklines. Only the Canadian M Sport Edition came with Blacklines.

Blacklines look awesome dude. I ordered a set from BMW UK last week, and was told i have to wait 5 weeks for them to come in from BMW Germany as they are totally out of stock :-/

If our 2013 M Sports come with black lines then we should be able to buy them local without paying import duties, right?

Just order them from ECS. Mine arrived in 3 days.
