13 1Ms on the market

http://www.carsales.com.au/car/brand...ce:Min,Max~0.5

IMO, feels like BMW got carried away and at 302 vehicles brought in a few more than our market really "wanted". Meanwhile in the US they got only 740 cars for a country of 311m people and talk about them in hushed tones as "highly collectible."

Sellers need to get more realistic about pricing. Alpine sold his for around $99k and that is much more realistic than the $130k numbers some people are still asking.

If you aren't doing track days etc then there is no point having a 1M, For less a 335i or M3 is a way better option.

It will be an epic car over time
It's an epic car now! Wouldn't sell mine....

mine has been sitting in my garage and definitely won't be selling mine until I get my share of track time in it. btw i don't think it's a bad daily either, except in peak hour traffic.

Off topic perhaps, and not making a comparison as I haven't driven either, but I am absolutely amazed at the reviews for M135. Must of read over 20 as I have a passing interest as my lease runs out in June.

Gets rave reviews. Certainly more than the 135, and possibly even more than the 1m. Journos love it.

Don't quite understand why. Surely a N55 135 with even a BMW PPK tune would match it in a straight line, and around corners with some basic upgrades

Looks aside, my point above was that if you could buy a brand new m135 for 80k, or a used, possibly track beatan 1m for the asking prices of $120k... Think I would go for the former.

That's assuming ur not a weekend track warrior

I think we're very lucky to be in a market where we have so much variation to the 1 series.

1M superstar. Ready for the track with a wide kit to set it apart from the crowd.
135i Coupe. Great daily drive and plenty of performance for the traffic light derby.
M135i. A great insight into what we can expect from the 235i. Perfect for the blind.

Are there any comparisons between the 135i N55 W/ PPK and a M135i? I'd be interested in knowing like what was already mentioned.

Ian, just out of interest. On the reviews I read, time wise, the difference was only marginal. Don't get me wrong, give me a 1m any day . But the M135 reviews, and times, are pretty amazing

Tune in the 1M gives 4.2 sec runs, no chance for M135
What if you put a tune in both?

if there is then there would be little difference to 100...especially because the M135 comes in auto. The 1M is built for corners you should know that

Many 135i's that are faster than 1Ms anyhow
4.2s... Wow, that is quick. Especially for a stick shift

Stock for stock, even with corners, the M135 gunna be in your rear vision mirror on the track. And for $40k less, based on 1m asking price on car sales - that's pretty respectable.

Ex M3 owner here... And can't argue on both those points.

But going back to my original post, still surprised at the rave reviews.

Then again, the Toyota GTS 86 getting plenty as well. Now there's a good lookin car. And a shame they didn't wack a 2.5Ltr STI donk in that mofo

Is there any stats/proof of a 1M doing 0-100 in 4.2 with just a tune?

The M135 is so ugly looking its a firkin joke.

The M135i will be just another 135i car in future, as it is.

A manual M135i will not see where a M1 went.

If 1Ms had, and they DON'T, a Dct it would eat M3s and that won't happen.... Ever.

The 1M was and remains restricted/constrained/limited by the M3 benchmark, full stop.

THE 1M is a special car that will remain so, there will never be another 1M, potentially not a 6 cylinder either.

And I have consumed lots of coronas hehehe

Sorry but 1M is not ready for the track, very far from it!
