Yes it look like that, is it possible that there 2 types of that trim. If BMW knew the problem with this trim maybe they do something to solve it. What do you think?

Tried various rubbing compounds, back to black, plasticX, NX wax without success. Anyone here tried this product http://www.oxiclear.com/black-anodiz...deoxidizer.php? The video Oxidized Aluminum for Newer cars shows an application on silver 7 series BMW.

It looks better than ever, just picked her up last March. Been looking for a way to sort this issue out. Hated looking at the oxidized aluminum every time I got in to the car, It was getting down to plasti dip, or wrap to fix it. Glad this stuff works. See how long it hold up. Got lots of reapplication from 2 containers full of the stuff.

Recommended.

Thank you for this! I noticed this discoloration and just thought to myself "oh well it is a 10 year old car." I'll have to go out and buy some Maguire's now! haha.

I'm super glad I found this thread, as my shadowline trim definitely has this issue! I'm gonna try that deoxidizer as well to see how long it lasts.
