hah.. I was looking at a carfax of a 135i with 11k mi and it showed a windshield replacement but no accidents. I was wondering why that would be (aside from a rock hit) at such low mileage, maybe this explains it.

Typically Carfax data like that comes from a police report.

Did it one time without thinking. Was lucky though, Was raising it slowly and stopped it when I heard the contact. The worse I got was some topcoat removed on the back edge of the hood. Definately a design flaw in my mind.

I just purchased an 2008 135 and i am so glad I read this thread, althought here in Florida you can replace a cracked windshield at no cost to you.
