Time for some new tires...
I currently have the RFTs at 19k miles and am looking for some replacements in the near future. I was thinking about the General Exclaim UHP 225/40 and 255/35. Are these a decent tire? Any recommendation or thoughts?

Im running the Dunlop Dirrezza Z1 Star Specs and I love them. FYI, Last time I put Generals on a car was 1997...i was 17. You get what you pay for and tires should be the last thing you skimp out on.

General exclaim are fantastic tires. Had 2 sets on my last car and currently finishing off my first set on my 135i now.
I track multiple times a year and these tires hold up very well. Wet traction is also probably the best of any high performance tire. I will replace these exclaims with new exclaims. I also run 225 and 255. The Dunlops are also excellent tires, but i cannot justify the price difference since the generals are so damn good. |

The last two sets of tires I've ordered have been exclaims as well. I had them on my VW Golf and on my Z4 and they performed really well in all conditions... and honestly were pretty good in the snow on my Golf.
If I didn't already have a set of dedicated snows I would probably be ordering the exclaims again for the 1er since I am in need of my first new set of tires as well. Since I do have the winters though, I'll be going with a dedicated summer tire this time. |
