Question What rims should I get???

Help! I can't decide between the Forgestar F14s and the VMR 710s. Both would be black and I am going with 18s to fit the stock tires.

What does everyone think would look best on Space Gray in Black in 18s?? I already have the Forgestars ordered, but after seeing this thread http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=373544 John has made me reconsider haha

Black fits real good with SpaceGray. My winterset is black (BMW OEM 178).
Now I have ordered a set of MatteGrey Breyton GTS-R's. In my opinion I think the grey's will fit even better, especially for summer use.

I know that SGM is a few shades darker than SG, but im going with a very dark gray for my summer wheels. I think black is a bit too much on a gray car.

But either of those wheels choices are good. Id go with with the VMRs myself tho.

i want to do black for sure. I just cant decide on which wheel to go with. I like them both...maybe I'll get one side VMR and the other side Forgestars...that way, i can have my cake and eat it too

Not with standing looks, I think proper fitment is most important. Do you plan on using stock RFTs 215/245 on rims that are 8.5/9.5" widths? If so, I think they would be to streached for my taste. Especially the fronts. For stock RFT sizes I would try to keep the wheel widths to 8/9". Even on 8/9" wheel widths, tire sizes of 225/255 are a better fitment.

I think you should reconsider using stock RFTs on those wheels. Just my opinion.

+1...if keeping the stocks go with CS7s with 8/9 wheel widths...also do u want a glossy black wheel or flat (like matte black)? I think Forgestar is only doing piano black now which is glossy (like Johns)

Yeah, i knwo what you mean about stretching the stock tires. It wont be that stretched i dont think. My snow tires are on, and those are stretched a lot. And me and Johan figured it wouldnt be too bad. I will just have to do a lot of burnouts and get new tires which shouldnt be toooo hard.. i originally wanted matte black, but i think the gloss black would look just as nice too. I think im probably just going to stick with Forgestars.

i think WSTO is in Chicago...u should stop by and lay some rims (Matte black and gloss black) against the space gray and see which looks better for ya.

^Yeah, ive been to wheelsto and we decided that the gunmetal matched the space gray too closely. it looks like i was trying to match it. so thats why i chose black.

WheelSTO is a great bunch of guys, I highly recommend them. I talk to (bother) Johan allll the time and for a few of the local chicago meets, me and Johan were the only ones who showed up hahaha

Just matte black.. but at the time it didnt really matter because the forgestars only come in gloss black. but black is definitely the way to go with space gray. the gunmetal was off by a little, but clsoe enough that it looked like i was trying to match the rims to the paint, but was wrong.

Is there a difference in weight between the two wheels?

I know the Forgestars are pretty light, but I haven't seen any weights for the VMRs.

i think the VMRs are all around stock weight...~25lbs...if u want lighter go with Forgestars, Breytons, or APEX (more exp though).

im with u on black...i like the stock wheels but cant stand the dirt/brake dust always showing on silver. Bc of weight savings i will prob go with Forgestars (prob when they run another $999 sale)

Yeah, I hate the brake dust.. such a pain in the ass, you wash the car and then drive it once and its full of brake dust again.. the gloss black should be easier to clean and stay cleaner than a matt black.. i may be wrong, but to me, i would think the brake dust would stick to matte black more.
