Well after 4 months of pushing my luck with my 135i...
Finally got my first speeding ticket 113KPH in an 80 zone. At least the officer was very kind to let me off with a 15 over and no points taken off. In this case I have no problem paying the $52.50.
Is it just me, or does this car just seem to want to speed? At 80, it really feels like I'm doing 50. Guess I need to start relying on my cruise control. *BORING* |

I hear you! Try driving a full bolt on with meth car, its brutally hard not to fly constantly. It takes a ton of willpower.

Thinking back to this morning on that same stretch of highway when I was passing a transport... By the time I got passed him I was doing about 140. That would have been much more difficult to explain to the cop and would have most likely resulted in a very hefty ticket and at least 5 points. Do you think they take passing speed into consideration? After all isn't it safer to get by those things as fast as you can?

So basically the cop went "i understand you just passed them, but i can tell you had a lot of speed, or were maintaining the speed longer then was really necessary after the pass, just take it into consideration next time you pass" |

I've had same "problem" , every time I got in my 135 I just felt like gunning it all the way to the limiter. Got over it really easy, once every 2 weeks I take it out on a track and beat the sh*t out of it. That keeps me in speed limit on the streets. I got a professional license, can't afford to loose it. IMO it's easier to spend $100 for the track than get a bunch of tickets. Also when you take it out on a track and do better than most modded Japanese cars you have no intention to proof anything to anyone on the streets no more... You know you can do better
If you look up some of the threads here, there's a track event been held every weekend with touge.ca . Kevin (the guy that puts together all the events) gets my respect for doing what he does. Really well organized... Just my opinion .... I would love to see more people from this forum out on a track burning tires, rather than on the streets.... |

I finally took out my car yesterday after winter storage and I forgot how stupid fast our cars were. I had a stupid grin on my face everytime I pushed it. It's really gonna take a lot of will power not to push it so hard cuz your right when your doing 80 it feels like 50.

same here it takes a ton of willpower not to push it on the streets, taking it out to the drag stip in cayuga really helps to control the urge

all of the above^^^^^^^^^^^^^This car is really fast, especially if your not high reving it to often like me LOL...I get a good pull here in there and enjoy it, but when i really push it to 4-6000rpms before i shift... i no it i am at 100mph ...These days i am very VERY carefull not to get pulled over..it would ruin it for me and i would be paranoid all the time..now it's just being careful...even stupid tickts driving slow doing 55 in a 45 around here costs ya $200....

lol, don't forget the way gas prices are going.... at least the higher gas goes, the more i can justify the extra 2-3 cents for 94 octane none of it matters anymore.
I just do 91 when i know i'm going long distances, and 94 when i know i'll be changing gears all the time... ie in city and on and off expressway where i am. |
