Wiring up fogs to work with oem switch

Hello. I have an 08 135i and have 1m rep bumper. I installed the fogs and ran wiring to a stand alone switch but I would like to be able to utilize the stock switch.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Garage List
stock switch has everything you need, just remove a couple of tiny pieces of plastic to enable switch to depress....search DIY for my post with photos...from 2011 or 2012

Where would I splice power to? I already have the OEM fog switch installed, but I need to connect the aftermarket fogs to work with stock switch thru the factory power source. I currently am using stand-alone switch wired to battery.

Ok the tools youll need are: wire strippers, wire cutters, heat shrink, heat shrink bud connectors, and a test light.

Step 1: disconnect the headlight assembly cable from the headlights.
Step 2: remove the wire cover by gently prying the back clips.
Step 3: exposing the wires of the plugs, using the test light find the headlight ground (wire
#11 brown with black stripe) and the "hot" wire for the coner lights (wire #9 green
with black stripe).
Step4: using the wire cutters cut wire #11 and #9.
Step5: use the wire strippers to carefully expose the wire.
Step6: with the wire your using to connect to the fog light insert and pass them through the
Heat shrink tubing (optional).
Step7: using the heat shrink bud connectors splice and connect wire #11(brown/black) to
neg fog light connector, wire#9 ( green/black) to pos fog light connector.
Step8: connect everything use test light to fist test if all is in working order.
Step9: use a lighter to heat the bud connecters shrinking them and bonding the wires to
each other.
Step10: cover the the location of the connection over with the heat shrink tubing you
inserted in step 6, heat with lighter to seal and cover it up.
Step 11: plug the fog lights and headlights and put all back to normal.

P.s i tried to submit the pictures but it wouldn't let me upload them all so i took a pic of the wires that i connected together covered in the heat shrink.
Hope this helps all 1ers with same project

I have the OEM switch with fog switch and rear fog switch and when I press the fog button the light on the instrument cluster illuminates indicating that fogs are on. Must be a way to connect to my aftermarket fogs so when I press the OEM button, they would work.

Well if you have the oem fog light switch and wiring just splice the aftermarkets wiring to the oem ones..? If you dont have the oem fog wiring you would have to make it connecting to the oem switch.
