Spied: 1 Series M Coupe Continues Testing Around Munich

The next partial reveal of the 1M coupe is imminent and its full unveil is next month, but it continues being evaluated. Just spotted in Munich is this black 1M coupe prototype showing covered M3 mirrors and new LCI headlights/tail lights. The wheels (Style 270M M3 winter wheels) have likely been fitted for some better cold weather traction. These photos also highlight the aggressively flared fenders of the 1 series M coupe.

I wonder if any interior color options will me available for this beast. With only 3 exterior colors, I'm guessing everybody gets black. Love those flared fenders.

That's one of the pre-production models we saw which explains why it doesn't have the xenons. The narrower wheels were mounted with snow tires as suggested.

I hope it can come with halogen. No ballast for xenon = lighter weight.

hmmm.. interesting point... as far as we were told.. Xenon would be standard. The models at the unveiling didnt have the CSL style decklid that I recall.. I sure hope that comes on it.

While Xenons will likely be standard in the US, they are usually an extra option on European cars.

Nice photos!

*Xeons - cost extra over here. Halogens standard.
*Mirrors look like M3 ones - just have some foile wrap covering the spokes/wings where they mount.
*Wheels are WINTER offsets - they sit in further. The car I saw @Welt had near flush setup.

PS: I had a dream last night, that I got to drive a 1M... MMMmmm....

ahh... yea if they are having issues. Marketing would want this car out; but if R&D is not feeling it, they will keep testing to weed out problems or to better tune it.

My guess is that this is more of a staged photo-op rather than "spied."

"Leak" a photo = free advertising, free buzz...

IMO of course, but still...
