About 2,500 miles here.

To start, loved the Euro Delivery experience. Not as crazy about the re-delivery wait, but it was all worth it in the end.

I'm quite happy with all my options and love the color. I didn't realize the grey interior would be quite so grey, but nonetheless have been wanting a blue/grey Bimmer for a very long time. I love the 09 iDrive/Nav and music options, the sport, premium and cold is nice. Still waiting for a 3G iPhone adapter before I can determine if the SmartPhone integration was worth it, but no real complaints at all.

The only thing I would have changed is that I would have gotten the Ipod/USB adaptoid, and the cold weather package. Wonder if the Ipod/USB will ever be a retrofit?

Been through the sports car thing... owned 3 vettes prior to the 135i, the most recent was a Z06.

I guess I wanted something that was a little more of a cruiser (with somewhat of a back seat).

considering I drive an M3 now (economy took a dump causing prices to slide intomy range) I guess I never would have gotten a 1 in the first place.

Do you miss your 06' ///M, or do you just not like your car? :iono:

For me, my 05' ///M was a superior car in stock form, however my 135i will be treated to new wheels, suspension. The suspension on the 135i leaves a lot to be desired. Once I'm done she should satisfy my DD needs in style.

I got mine in June, terrible timing in my opinion...only 2? months before the 2009s came out. Only got around $600 under MSRP....not a great deal.
And....I would not get the premium package again. Its nice, but not worth $3300 in my opinion. I'd get leather as a separate option.
And....I did need a car ASAP.....but if I didn't I wish I'd of waited for the new 2009 Z4....from the pictures I think its much nicer and classier than the 135i!!!!

THIS WAS MY FAULT! I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE PATIENT AND DONE LONGER AND MORE AGGRESSIVE TEST DRIVES. I have bi##hed and moaned about the car in several other threads if you care to look at a more detailed list of my complaints.

If I did those drives, I would have learned the car is a good DD/GT, but definately not the sports car I was looking for.

I also know now that the car is isolated in feel, overteched and handles inconsitantly at the limits..
Are you able to drive this car on the road at its limits in the States?

If I had known how severe the economic downturn was going to be, I would have waited. My job is tied to the auto industry, and there's a lot of uncertainty right now in all manufacturing sectors. The down payment I put on the 1 would have nearly paid off my previous vehicle, and I would have had a fun, solid, fast ride with no payment to worry about if I get laid off.

That said, I love the 135i, and hindsight is always 20/20, so I'm not worrying too much about it. I'll make it through with or without a car payment, it would have just been one less thing to deal with if the worst happens.

Ditto. I had a Grand National for 10 years. Loved the car to death, but it was just a drag car. Black is definitely my favorite car color, but i will never buy another black car again. Just a pain to take car of.

JB instead of SBM
Sports Pkge
135 instead of 128
MT instead of AT
Prem. Sound
Thats it, guess Ill give the current one to my wife then get above.

...btw, think black looks the richest when clean, also it takes longer for radar/lazar to pick up darker color cars.

I would do it again, with Euro delivery, more haggling, and navi and terra leather.

A little something interesting about this thread. Most of the posts are positive and say they'd do it all over again yet according to the poll results only 43% are truly happy with their purchase. For some reason those that would change their purchase voted accordingly yet didn't post as to why.

No regrets, the car fit all my criteria (40k or cheaper, warranty, fast, comfortable) when I bought it and has been a joy. I really wanted to buy another 993 Porsche, but didn't want to deal with maintenance/insurance costs. I'll get another Porsche in 4 years and hold onto my 1'er forever.

Still isn't a better deal out there.

Looks like most of them would have just odered it differently (colors, options, ect.)

Not really all that surprising.

Only thing I might do differently is get the new iDrive (which wasn't even announced 6 months after I already had been driving mine). Other than that.. no regrets.

I got heated seats and premium sound. I'd keep the heated seats, drop the premium sound and go sports package instead.

I made the same mistake. I absolutely love the color but I'm always dissappointed with how quickly it looks dirty. So I'd get another color next go round also.

Last car was black... it's the best color when it's clean, problem is that it's rarely ever clean.

My SGM also looks great when it's clean, but it's also approximately the same color as dirt, so it still looks pretty good even after a month of no washing.
