C'mon, that's plain pragmatism: a 911 has no real multi-purpose backseats, the 1M has.

It's deeper than that...we weren't really broken up, just fighting...we love each other

Will it get a non moving violation on the US 90 near Syracuse for "improper use of speedometer" because the very nice state trouper said " It's such nice car I didn't want your insurance to go up".

Thank you officer

Are you sure that he didn't mean "improper use of right foot?"

That has to be the best thing ever to get a ticket for! I would frame it.

Heck I want to see a picture of it to believe it!

And who ever created a law about improper use of the speedo in the first place!?

I can assure you he did not reach 100 mph in those city scenes. There is an intersection on Gough where ANY car doing over 35 mph will get some air so 100 would really send you off to a very rough crash landing! You can make a car handle but you can.t make it beat gravity .

Will it make your wife freakout for a few seconds and rush back home to check in the garage if it's not been stolen when she sees another one of the same color with the same black grille option drive by her a few blocks away from our home?

Yes it will!

Darn car is so rare I have yet to see another one than mine on the road...

Will it... Hold a smooth, half-lock, tail-out drift around a 90 degree left hander?

Yes it will.

Will it... Cause the driver in front of you, after witnessing said drift, to give you a double thumbs up, one hand out the window the other out the sunroof? Not, once, not twice, but three separate times?

Yes it will.

Will it... Still scare the crap out of you when you run out of steering lock on cold tires?

Yes it will.

Will it cause a parking cop to write down your plate after passing him with what may be described as "excessive turbo spool up"?
You guessed it.

Will it... keep you safe from harm and hassle when, in the city during Friday eve rush hour (May 4, 2012), an idiot suddenly changes lanes without using its left blinker and without looking into his left side mirror ?

Can... the mighty M3 brakes of the approaching 1M handle a violent emergency stop to avoid the brainlessly piloted vehicle from colliding into the 1M ?

Yes it will - Yes they can.

Will it send you backwards into a tire wall with the slightest provocation ( albeit a provocation on the edge of grip on an off camber 90 degree cresting corner ) ?........uh huh.

Will it make a hole in your secret savings account because a race track incident is not covered by insurance and you don't want to tell your wife how much it cost?.......uh huh.

Will it be off the road for 6 months because BMW hadn't made any right rear quarter panels for their parts inventory? ......uh huh.

Hang on in there. Pride dent will be fixed too. It's going to be alright again in the near future.

Thanks mate. It is back on the road ( see my sig' ).

Pride wasn't dented as I look at it this way - don't drive on a race track and go hard unless you are prepared to accept the possible consequences. Fortunately for me I can afford it and I have other cars to use for transport.

You only live once so you might as well make the most of it.

Or, as stated in liner notes of an Art Of Noise record of the eighties: "You only live once, some even don't". Gotta make the best of it.

Murphy's Law and race track Armco:

Unlucky F430 Scuderia driver at Spa-Francorchamps:
"I feel very sorry for the owner of this Ferrari 430 Scuderia. We asked the owner if he could rev the engine for us. He said he would that as soon as the engine was warm enough. After a few minutes he revved the engine very nice and drove off towards the track entrance of Spa Francorchamps. After a few minutes we heard that a Ferrari 430 Scuderia was crashed at the track, so we decided to take a look.
Although the license plates are bent, you can recognize this Scuderia thanks to the logo next to the rear ligths on the right!"

Lucky E46 M3 CSL driver at Nürburgring (±160km/h or ±100mph when hitting the curbs - great recovery):

Will the 1M rear spoiler and exhausts attract a dog to 'mark' his territory and belongings ?

Yes it will...
