USA 1M option packages?

Has there been any news on what the option packages there are for the US yet ? I was wondering if BMW will offer the same packages on a global scale. We are already going to get stung for 20% VAT in rip off UK. Some good value packages on a £40K car would be a nice touch due to its low volume numbers at 450 in the UK. I hope BM is listening

My dealer said there are three options: premium package, convenience package and heated seats. It doesn't give the package prices or list the package contents.

Don't need no stinking packages. Give me a stripper with iPod/USB only.

We normally get something like comfort package, business or professional media package and lighting package but this not being a normal car might mean we get something different though I hope not.

When I spec-ed mine up it came to £44700 or £45200 with metallic paint so a few quid off that for packages would be nice.

Our (UK) packages normally differ slightly to the US.

I'd be interested in a-la-cart options rather than pre-bundled (read, expensive and full on needless items) packages. If one decides for power seats, hopefully he can do so without getting in bundled with garage door opener, illuminated door handles, BMW assist, etc. etc. etc. Also, interested to see what Priority 1 items are.

Uncertain, but it appears possible that the navigation system may be available only as part of the convenience package (ZCV) that also includes anti-theft alarm system, comfort access keyless entry and park distance control (rear only).

Great way to jack up the price if this is the case. Hopefully not.

I mentioned in another thread, my Dealer said the system wouldnt let them place the order with convenience package without the premium package tied. I am assuming this is just an error in the system at this point.

It seems at least for the timebeing, the only way to get iDrive is with ordering the Convenience package and therefore being forced into ordering the Premium package too.

I indeed hope that is an error, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Why just not order 1 package if BMW is saying that to get 1 you need to check the box for all others?

This has been done in the past on other models, has more to do with the electronics than jacking up pricing.
