Is it safe to drive?

I have stock RFTs. there is a screw on the edge of the tire that i found this morning along with a flat tire and a bunch of lights and bells in the car. i put air in the tire, and over an hour it lost 1 psi. is it safe to drive on the freeway over 65 mph even though it says you can only go 50?

no?

If the nail comes out you could have rapid air loss (especially at highway speed). Since you aren't going to be able to watch it and see when/if it comes out, I don't think I'd do it...

Can you just drive 50mph until you get it fixed?

cant drive the freeways at 50mph. the only way to get from bellevue to seattle is the floating bridge freeways.

not going to bother as this little fucker has caused the tire to lose another 12 psi since i last submitted this thread. went from 35 to 23

Sounds like its rapidly losing air. I would get it patched if its not near the sidewall and temporarily use it. Best thing to do at this point is purchase a brand new tire unfortunately.

if you have BMW assist, now is the time to use it. If not, i would try to see if your insurance company can do a temporary patching on the tire like how AAA does.

the screw and bolt assembly is on the outside edge of the tire. Half in the tread half in the sidewall. Thank god for BMW tire insurance. I ordered the new tire Monday, it will be installed tomorrow. And because of these runflats I am able to drive to the dealerr even though I hate them haha
