Berk street Axleback vs. Maddad Whisper Axleback

Which is quieter? Running Berk street Axleback with Berk mids and am planning on doing the VSRF DP's but don't want it any louder than it is now. I KNOW it will be louder but I was wondering if the whisper would tone it down any quieter than the Berk and if not, going back to the stock axleback is not out of the question. To give an idea of what I want "stock DP's with Berk mid pipes and stock axleback was perfect for me. Want to try and keep as close to this as possible while still getting the power benefits of the DP's. Any suggestions welcome.

No videos. To me just the Berk mids with stock DP's and axleback is very close to the stock N55. With the street axleback it's still tolerable but you DEFINATELY hear it inside the car more (which I don't like) was thinking about putting some dynamat or equivalent on the heat shields under the car that sit right about the exhaust.

If only our cars sounded like it does on a cold start, all the time lol

So you are saying that even with midpipes it would only sound like a stock N55? Or Berk midpipes and stock axbleback = N55

I would say with just the Berk midpipes it sounds very close to a stock N55, maybe a little deeper. Essentially that's how the N55 exhaust differs; it has no cats on the midpipe. Once you add the Berk axleback to the Berk midpipes it's much louder than a stock N55 although still tolerable. Now once you add downpipes which is my plan I feel it may be too loud "for me".

On this subject is the Maddad Whisper the quietest straight through muffler/axle back?

This is what I would like to know, and how does it compare sound wise to the factory Axleback?

Just to give you an idea this is what is on my car now. I went back to the stock exhaust for one day and swapped my Berk back on because it was extremely raspy. I have the street performance one with N55 mids, AR Design catless dp's. The video is not that great but you can get an idea on how loud it will be at WOT.

I don't have a Maddad but if someone else with similar setup can post a vid to compare would be good

I'm not sure if Berk has more than one axleback, but if you have the normal "straight pipe" Berk axleback that I am familiar with, then of course the MadDad Whisper will be quieter.

On an N54, the MadDad Whisper probably doubles exhaust volume. It's a little louder than the normal cold start and it stays that way all the time. I'm not sure that it's the quietest axleback out there but for sure it's close.

Sounds to me like you want downpipes, stock or modded N55 midpipes (which should be similar), and a muffled axleback like the MadDad Whisper.

Yeah DP's with stock N54 mids and Berk axleback with muffler may be just what I'm looking for. Wish I hadn't got rid of my stock midpipe now.

Videos of Berk Race (Muffler Delete) Axleback vs. a Berk Midpipes + Street Muffler Exhaust setup that I posted in another thread:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...77&postcount=7

I'm planning on adding downpipes soon, so when I get those I'll post a video of those in conjunction with the Berk midpipes and street exhaust.

Maddad whisper seems to be the quietest axleback on the market now, but it's still definitely a step up from the stock exhaust and relatively aggressive sounding.

Also, the resonators in the Berk midpipes help eliminate droning and raspiness for anyone who is worried about that with downpipes. I'll see exactly how well that works out in the coming days/weeks.
