New Owner: My 135i "Gray Coat"
2013, manufactured 9/2012. Picked her up in January 2014, in Raleigh, NC. All stock and will stay that way. First BMW for me. A nice complement to my DD G35 sedan.
MineralGrayMetallic, OysterBostonLeather, Mpackage, PremiumPkg, TechPkg, HK sound.... (etc. except for the rear camera) Would have preferred the 6MT, but never found one locally in this color combo and package options and newer than 2012. I've had some of the issues with the DCT that I've read in this forum. Had oil-change & brake fluid warranty service last month and the main DCT issues (hesitate, then surge) appears to have been addressed (they "neutered" her?). Don't notice much else missing in performance. Definitely a joy to drive. This forum has been a great help with getting to know this car before and after purchase! Thanks! Here's some phone pixs: |

Congrats!
I just got a CPO 2013 135i too - couple weeks ago. Sounds a lot like yours, too (color, leather, options, etc)! My first BMW also. (Previous car was a Mazda MX-5, which is an excellent car). Mine has a build date of 9/2013. Original owner bought it 12/2013, then traded it in 5/2014 with 3075 miles on it. Thank you! Do you have tinted windows? Looks nice; I'm thinking of going 50% (don't want it dark, mostly just want UV and heat protection. I will also do a clear bra. Thanks for posting pics of "our" car! By the way, I just washed and waxed it, and found that my long-time favorite Mother's Reflections (just used the Top Coat wax, not the Wax and Top Coat) works great on these cars. Amazingly smooth clear coat on our cars.

Congratulations and welcome to the MG fraternity! Your car is spec'd just like the one I test drove at the dealer and me plunking down a deposit to wait for mine to be built. I have Oyster as well. You can stay "stock" and go with a PPK/PE/PS combination that is hard to beat for those of us wanting to stay original and within warranty. Perhaps you have also thought about ditching the runflats for PSSs for daily driving duty. You are probably enjoying the heck out of your car just the way it is... and that is a great thing!

Thanks!
The windows are tinted, probably 50%. The run flats have 20K on them but still hold on as fast I am willing or able to drive, but I am looking at SuperSports-S or A/S 3's and will do the swap in Dec/Jan if the RF's hold up til then. As for the PPK mods, I did consider that, but this car has enough for me "as-is!" http://www.1addicts.com/forums/image.../happyanim.gif (at least for now!) |

Actually though, the clear bra is more important to me, since I have long commute, mostly highway... and our love bug season comes twice a year! Agree with you regarding the tuning upgrade--no complaints with the stock setup! By the way, did you have to ask for a software/flash update, or did you just get it "automatically" when they did your service? Is there a version number or code to look/ask for? (I have no idea what I have, or if I even need an upgrade). Thanks!

Didn't ask for an upgrade and didn't complain about the DCT. I did not see anything on my invoice and nobody mentioned anything about any upgrades.
May be all they did was an Adaptive Transmission reset or a Throttle reset, if that is a real thing? (hold pedal down 30-45sec with keyfob in and start button pushed without foot on brake). I've seen others on this forum who have a some documentation that a DCT upgrade/flash was performed. Waited almost 3hr for an oil change, brake fluid flush, wheel alignment & car wash, so they could have done anything. while I waited I test drove the '14 2's and 3's - I'll keep my 1, thank you. Electronic assist steering should be an option! Doesn't feel right IMHO. Shame they stopped making these 1's. |
