9.5 et45 users please chime in!

So I have ordered a set of wheels with the following specs : 18" 8.5 et40 and 9.5 et45
I am planning to run 235/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rears. Tyres are federals rsr's. i think fronts won't be a problem as the offset is just about right and camber is set at -2.75. My main concern are the rear fitment as I think that et 45 is too aggressive especially if mated with 255 semislicks. Is there any chance that it will rub? Camber is set at -2.5. can anyone running this setup chime in and share his experience please. Thanks in advance

I just ordered from the Tire rack 9.5" Wide rears and 255/35 tyres and they look like the stance set-up the lip of the wheel sticks out. Not my liking but next time it will be wider than a 255

Guam, you must have ordered a tire brand that runs small like a Toyo or Falken.

With Kizzu's planned tires are R rated track tires, they'll run much wider. My stats are listed in my sig. I am running nearly 3 deg or rear cam and 255 PSS's rubbed pretty bad on my 1 inch lowered suspension even with rolled, trimmed and pulled fenders. No way an R rated tire will fit once your suspension compresses on a track.

The only way to make that setup work is to do the rear rotor mod that I recently did. It will work with different/semi stretched tires. Or just get different wheels. Good luck.

Hey man. Check out my thread with the same setup. I also ran federal tires. The ss595. Here's some pics of the federal on the rear with stock alignment specs, lowered 1 inch.http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1084697 I don't have a back seat and over super big bumps it would rub very slightly. Not enough to put any kind of a mark on the tire ever. It should work fine for you. Definitely doesn't have the stretched stanced look. Not at all.

thanks for the input guys! I think I'll try my luck on this set as it is a set for once is feasible and good looking on these cars and if federal's don't fit (which hopefully they will) I'll guess I'll have to run ad08's or hanks rs3's.

Keep in mind, AD08s and RS3s run just as wide (if not wider) than Federal RSRs

Yep, the wheels will work as long as you run the right tires. Munky is running the SS595, probably no where near as wide as the RSR, but then again, you are running much more camber. For sure any rear 255 that runs wider than a PSS will be tough. Good luck.

Thanks. I know the issue but I have to keep it functional, I'm trying to find good track tyres and that's all I can get hold of atm. If it will rub then I will have to end up running 245s

This can give you an idea of what the 255 rsr will look like on a 9.5 wheel. You can see the curve of the tire and how level the wheel sits with the tire. Loesch towards the bottom of the second page has a pic of his rear wheel. Obviously this isn't the same as a +45 wheel but you can see how the face compared to the curve into the tread will look.

I knew that 255s where going to look good especially if they are semislicks on a 9.5 wheel. What are the offsets that Loesch has on its rears if you don't mind asking?

On Tuesday I'll be putting Michelin PSS 255/35 on 18x9.5 rears. I'll let you know how it goes.

Im on ST coils and as low as possible on the rear with 245/40 MPSS, 18 x 9.5 et 45 (of course). The outside tire side walls rub the fender (metal part, not the liner) when the car hits large bumps or is loaded heavily.

If you aren't low, then you may have no rubbing issues. Not sure what others have experienced with 255 tires.

you have the wrong profiles for the rear that's why you're rubbing badly. the profile is bigger thus it will have less space from tyre to fender. you're supposed to be running 245/35/18 . I'm lowered an inch or two on bc and if it will rub slightly I'll just adjust the dampening a tad harder.

Oh wow, that was a mistake. I am running 245/35... The rub isnt a cringe worthy type of rub, I don't really mind it. I probably should though. I'll probably move on to different wheels though and I can correct the problem then.

+50. They rub with 255x35 Federal RS-R's. Factory alignment specs.
