Berk Axleback Exhaust review

Well I finally got my berk exhaust bolted on last night and I am quiet no longer! As some of the others said, the installation was literally a breeze. I listened to all the other reviews and picked up some rhino ramps and WD-40 to loosen everything up.

Installation - I would say 30 minutes max. It was very easy from start to finish.

Sound - I think Feyd summed it up on his initial impression, It sounds pretty sick! I have swapped out mufflers before on many of my mustangs over the years and it never seemed to be enough in the sound area. Well i can say for sure, this exhaust delivers a deep bass sort of tone that isnt obnoxious. It is very hard to explain but I would think it sounds like another muffler type axleback with non catted downpipes. It is LOUD on cold startup in my garage!!! but after about 60 seconds it calms down nicely.

Value - For $499 I think it is a very good deal. I love the chrome tips and the fact that I just shaved 25 pounds of weight off my car. The exhaust itself came wrapped to the max and the welds and coating seemed to be pretty good quality.

Performance - Its hard to verify this part but the gas pedal seems lighter for some reason . It has been a literal oven as of late in Florida so the turbo cars tend to suffer a bit this time of year. The car screams to redline and is music to my ears regardless of the weather with this exhaust.

Overall - I would give this exhaust at least a 9 out of 10 I am sure some of the other muffler type axleback exhaust systems sound sweet but I just didnt feel like spending 1k plus on a exhaust at this time.

Great Job Berk Technology!! I am a happy customer and thanks for the good service from Vivid Racing! (Dan)

I hope this helps.

Brian

I still cant understand how $500 is a good deal. 3 feet of pipe and some chrome tips. Not much engineering there I am afraid.

What the hell is the point of getting any other axle back then? They're 1000+ for something that looks just like the stock one. If you want more noise, you can just pry open the stock muffler and take out a bunch of that shit they put in there and there ya go.

I spent $600 for my stainless steel Borla dual pipe system for my 2003 mustang Cobra a few years back and thought that was high at the time.

The reason I say 500 is a good deal for the berk is because spending $1500+ for an axleback is just crazy...but if ya want to spend the bux no biggie...My exhaust sounds great so I am happy

There are some other decent price alternatives out there...maddad, BMW performance etc...I am glad we all have choices and dont sound the same

Thanks

Brian

I cant find these for sale anywhere, anyone know who sells one? Or the afe axle back?

I'm really looking for videos for ONLY an axle back, all the video's I've found on here are the axleback + catless or resonator deletes

Vividracing sells Berk exhaust.

Jlevi SW sells aFe exhaust.

I bought my aFe from Jlevi and I love it too.

You can buy the aFe exhaust straight from aFe, JLeviSW and Bavarian Autosport. Here's some videos I made of my aFe exhaust with ONLY the axleback installed:

Ive got the Street ceramic coated axle back.

Love it. Broke in nicely, sound is perfect for me, when putting around it lets me know its there subtly, and WOT it screams. Love opening it up next to a highway barrier!

Got mine for $450 shipped. I've had it for 8 months or so and love it. Not too loud for a DD but still makes a great sound. I want a little more noise but that will come with midpipes
