Take the cowl off and the rear filter takes 3 minutes max. With the cowl on it's virtually impossible to fit the filter into the inlet, let alone tighten the clamp around it. The cowl comes off very easily, personally I just took it off and ditched it, so far as I can tell it just muffles the motor noise to keep in cabin sound down to "luxury" levels. To get to the cowl just unscrew the HVAC panel, then unclip the two sensors on either side of the cowl and leave them hanging to the side (unclip the vac lines as well). I believe at that point the cowl can be pursuaded out, though don't quote me on that as I haven't touched the cowl in months. Intakes are VERY easy with practice, but a total pita if you leave the cowl on.

I reach back and grab the inlet tube and push the cone with my other hand.

I second taking the cowl off. After swapping it out without the cowl on these last few times, I have no idea how I put up with it before. So much easier.

Yup almost impossible to tighten the clamp with the cowl on. I think there's a video install somewhere too if you look that will show you all the steps.
