Question about angel eyes and daytime running lights

I installed the RD Angel Eye LEDs and the angel eye rings light up white/blue as expected but I noticed that the daytime running lights are still yellow. I tested this by turning the wheels all the way to the right (or left) while the car was on and the headlamps are on auto.

I've attached a couple of pics. The first pic is what it looks like without the daytime running light bulb on, and the second is with it on (by doing the test I explained above).

Is it normal that the light is yellow and not white/blue?

Those aren't the daytime running lights (DRLs). The DRLs are the angel eyes; the lights you are looking at are the turning lights (hence, they come on when you turn). They also come on when you are in reverse gear.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know they were turning/cornering lights. Neat feature but doesn't seem very useful.

Actually, when it is really dark (like in the woods on a moonless night dark), they do provide a good amount of supplemental light. You won't notice much in the city or suburban setting.

You can upgrade the H3 cornering bulbs with a hyperwhite replacement to emit a closer match.

Thanks. Today I noticed that my angels eyes flicker when they are turn on or off. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. They flicker because the car still thinks you have the tungsten-based bulbs. If you watch how these OEM bulbs come on or turn off, they ever so subtley dim-on and dim-off. An LED depends on a consistent power supply to work, so when the power is being dimmed-on or off, the LED isn't receiving a consistent amount of power. Therefore, they flicker.
