18'' wheels help me choose

so ive decided to keep my car and slap some wheels on her. i did just pick up pilot super sports 225-40-18 255-35-18. i have a 2012 m sport 135i. it isnt lowered but i want to put some coilovers or swift springs and koni struts. i really like the VMR 710 718 AND 810. anyone have any reasons as to get 1 over the other? and what offset should i run. i do plan on doing a few track days this winter and want functionable wheels thanks for your input

VMR 810 would be my vote. Flow formed, lightweight (or more so anyways) and stronger than the others to boot.

VMR makes them in 1 series offsets I believe, though I forget what their specific offsets are, +45 in front and +50 in rear or something I think? Hit them up, they'll set you straight!

Thanks man I didn't know they were lighter that is important to me. Yes you are correct those are the offsets I was looking to buy

Happy to help! Check out their custom powdercoat options. They have some really cool colors. The price isn't bad either IMO.

Not to make it more complicated but since you inferred a dual duty street and track wheel, I would also look at the Apex Arc-8, Aero-7 and EC-7 as well. Very strong lightweight wheels. I don't think they look bad either, but looks are so subjective.

Just based on looks, I'd go with 810s. Not a fan of the curved look on the 710s and 718s.

If you are looking for lightweight then VMR is not your best option although they are slightly lighter than stock. Apex, enkei, forgestar, and oz all have much lighter wheels (<20 lbs). VMR does have some nice looking wheels though at a reasonable price.

also keep in mind the 810s have a higher offset in the rear, i believe around 56 or 57, which is similar to the apex ec-7. assuming michelin pilot super sport tires, the higher offset should allow you to run a 265 without modification to your rear fender lip. if you get a 50 offset rear wheel, (710 or 718), 255 should fit without modifying your fender.

having said that, i have the arc-8s and the rear offset is 62, and i am running sumitomo htr II 275/35 with a 5mm spacer and have absolutely no rubbing (which means my offset is close to or the same as the 810 in the rear). but i believe VMR still recommends 265 as the safest large size for the 810 in the rear. camber in the rear is at 2 degrees. also, i believe the MPSS run slightly wider than the HTR IIs.

for the front, i am running 45 offset with 235/40 sumitomo htr II. even with the m3 bits up front i, had to shave down the bumper tab inside the fender, and it still barely rubs on big bumps. i think dinan camber plates will fix it for good though.

with your tires, i do not think you will have any problems with the 45 offset up front or as low as 50 in the rear. in the rear, the higher offsets will have more clearance to the fender lip, and the wheel will look a little more sunken in, which some people don't like (such as myself). thats why i have a 5mm spacer. it was the largest i could run without worrying about the tire rubbing on the fender
