I got 08 for 21k (76k miles) out the door with a 3/36k warranty, mechanical warranty. Original owner had extended service plan to 100k. Just had the hpfp replaced under BMWs coverage on it. The injectors are all getting replaced under the mechanical warranty. If it's higher miles I would recommend getting a third party warranty.. only cost me 2k... All injectors will cost around 1200... this is after 4k miles of owning the car, so if anything else breaks it will almost pay for itself.

I have an 08 135i with 67K and extended maintenance to 100K. All injectors, HPFP, turbos, clutch (dont ask), rear tail lights,... etc. all replaced. Some of the issues were recalls so, it would not matter if under warranty or not.

If you can take it to an independent shop for an evaluation, it might be worth it. As for mine I have no worries. I don't see any issues until al least 110K.

Go for it, if it looks clean and the indy shop gives a thumbs up. The 135i is the most fun car I have ever owned and it also is a comfortable daily driver. good luck.

Try to get the service records pulled from BMW, see what's been replaced and how many times. I think you can probably do a little better than 70k on an '08. See if you can find an '09.

Yeah, if you really like it then line up an inspection at an indy shop within the 7 days. They ususally charge around $200. But, they should also tell you what the car will need in the near future. It's good piece of mind.

wow 70k miles car is still going for that much?? I just past 55k on my 08 135i and was thinking of selling it within the year. I didnt think they were going for that much. I was thinking right at around $20k for mine maybe a little less.

I'd say It's a little over the expected miles but if it has the maintenance records and all that jazz, I'd say go for it. Correct me if I'm wrong but the average is 12,000 miles per year? So Should be around 60k if my math isn't off. You say it's covered under the extended service. Have you verifed this with BMW? Just a precaution, I've read horror stories that dealers say it's covered and the owner bought it later found out it wasn't.

That's just about what I would do anyways.

I ended up waiting 6 months and eventually found one in Florida that I liked. Got this '09 last summer for $29k with only 25,000 miles on it, CPO. I can imagine an '09 exists out there with around 50k, non-CPO in your pricerange.

Honestly, look outside your general area for one. I bought a plane ticket from Boston to Florida 3 nights in advance for $120 and had a blast driving my new 135i up the coast. A cheap plane ticket and a really fun road trip is worth having more options rather than settling, ESPECIALLY for one without sport package.

Get the maintenance records. Get an extended 3rd party warranty if you can, but be sure to read the fine print on what coverage the warranty actually comes with.

My 08 has 72k miles and it's running just as strong as ever. As long as cosmetic condition is good and it's been kept up on maintenance, I'd say go for it. Make sure the intake valve cleaning/walnut blasting is done though, otherwise plan on doing it. It'll free up a lot of lost power.

Totally 100% agreed to this. It's nice to buy local and drive it first, but if you have a good feeling about the car it's worth the gamble to get a flight and then go check it out. Especially if you have any friends or family in or near a major city.

Check further out than 500 miles, dealers are accommodating to interested buyers who aren't close by. That's the only way I'm driving a 135i right now and it happened to be equipped exactly as I would have done it.

It's wierd though, when I was looking, all of the cars were in the FL/south of the border areas, and now you're in FL having a hard time finding one. Honestly its part of the fun of owning one of these cars, you gotta spend the time and effort to hunt one down rather than how easy it is to find a properly equipped 335i.

If it's not sold in a couple weeks he'll change the price. I had a few conversations with dealerships like that, and noticed that not only did they in fact budge on the asking price over time, that the actual asking price itself changed. There were a few times I had to resist the urge to call or write back to a dealership to remind them of what they'd been saying a month prior.

Of course that means you'll just have to be patient which is easier said than done. But if a car is overpriced, it won't sell, and the price will eventually reflect reality. Eventually.
