what pissed me off is that when i got there, the garage doors were closed and the "workers" have knocked off.... which means they could have called me much earlier to tell me. I could've gone elsewhere still.

I had the same shit when I was getting mine fitted, even though the tires on the car at the time weren't rft's. It's a pain in the ass and all you can do is ask here for someone to recommend a place near you.

Morons in tyre shops piss me off. Had a retailer tell me bullshit rules about tyre widths compared to original factory. Wouldnt admit he was wrong, should have told him to read the ADR's...

Thankfully vans has sorted me out!

Well.. let's bring the thread on track. So this morning drove straight in the bridgestone near my work (vitanza's in the valley) without booking. They finished the job within an hour with no hassles. (The owner there has a 335i with pzeros so he understands run craps ) Highly recommend this place.

First impression: Car looks great, the wider tyre and square shoulders of the PSS fills out the guards. Second impression: Ride was very smooth, very quiet, and just rides over bumps and not crash through them. Short drive back to work was a bit greasy as the tyres were still green. On the way home though the tyres just got better and better as they are scrubbed in. My face was

When you say greasy and then better and better, I wonder if you mean softer? I went from rfts to non rft's and yes softer but not better. That is in a suspension view, in my opinion I have done same and need firmer suspension

By greasy i mean the tyres were still green as they just got fitted. They generally becomes more grippy after a few hundred km. Some people say non rft's are softer and by comparison it is softer but i don't think it's a bad kind of "soft". It is more compliant and should be more predictable.

A stiff jarring feeling tyre/ suspension doesn't mean it handles better or faster. Also, a gripper tyre (not just in terms of compound but one that stays in contact with the road read: non rft) will give you more body roll and a feeling that it's gone "soft". But in fact your grip level has increased and you'd only want to go harder with your suspension to maintain that contact patch.

this is a good read http://www.bimmer-mag.com/issues/101...machine?page=1

Just got home after having my PSS fitted by the crew at vans. Can't speak highly enough of your team mate - a very friendly and professional team you got there Would recommend to anyone!

As for the PSS had a perfect opportunity to test them out on the way home - and what better way than in bucketing rain. Don't worry, nothing stupid, but the fact is, not once did I lose traction - the grip is immense. And the ride is much more refined, especially over bumps. I think as ansch mentioned, you still feel the bumps, but not that jarring feel.

Actually thinking of getting a second set before tire rack ends their sale and we have to pay taxes above $1k threshold!

Lol. When i was quoting local price for the pss, a tyre shop told me that the pss would be too dangerous in the wet. That I should go for ps3 instead. Or the pzeros he had on special. I wish vans is in Brisbane. Hard to find honest people that know what they're talking about.

I'm not surprised. Had falken azenis back in the days and people just assume you'll kill yourself in the rain. But they were great in the wet. Just stay away from standing water at speed.

Now going through four sets of tyres annually, I just order through Tyrepower North Melbourne for support, convenience and competitive pricing.
