Carbon Fiber wrapping on Aluminum glacier trim

Has anyone done this? The aluminum glacier isn't a smooth surface trim, so i'm thinking wrapping it would be a little tougher due to the non-smooth surface and would create air bubbles. Any advice will help. Thank you.

You can always trade trims with someone that has gray poplar and wrap that. Hint hint

Don't think wrapping the aluminum glacier will work. But you can just get a piece of contact paper or somesuch, and try a small section, without even removing the trim. That should give you a good idea of what it will look like.

I used carbon fiber fabric to wrap my aluminum glacier. I do not have issue with air bubbles but then again, I used fabric and not vinyl.

That's a great job there. I just started wrapping mine with vinyl and I love the way it looks. I was able to get it around all the corners with no creases as well which was one of my original concerns. Very pleased with the 3M 1080 stuff.

Do you have the link of where you bought your carbon fiber fabric?

I only bought one yard. I have left overs and I had to do some parts twice.

I saw someone doing a warping with a shiny carbon film not a standard mate one. The result was very close to the Perfomance interior

You should be fine. I think the F10 5 series I did had similar trim as what you have.

Diffuser wrapped with the Fabric too? Looks excellent, was it hard to prep?

door trim

Great job on the interior trim change. Where did you purchase the carbon fiber one from? Did you do the job yourself?

Just wondering if anyone changed the trim around the doors from silver to black and where did you purchase it from.

I just wrapped some of my glacier aluminium trim with the 3M Scotchprint 1080 vinyl wrap and can confirm that it works perfectly i.e. no golf ball bubbles showing. Will try to get a few photos up today. Looks fantastic and much tougher interior!
