I have a synapse BOV from my evo x. Anyone know what I need to make that fit? Any GOOD way to use that on the stock charge pipe?

HKS is LOUD and as long as you don't buy a counterfeit version, excellent quality.

I have one on mine and it's so loud I ended up plumbing it back into my CP. It's still louder than the other two - even like that.

When it's venting to atmo you can hear it 300 yards away...

It's very nice, but VERY LOUD. Seriously, it's an overtly loud noise and very high pitched. Closer to letting steam off a tea pot than charge air being vented off.

I've been very happy with Synapse, others have had it fail on them.

Can never go wrong with Tial either.

Synapse has been known to fail. I originally purchased one and then heard about them failing and synapse not backing up the warranty so I returned it and went with tial

Just get a tial and be done with it. Most reliable, comes in dope colors, made in the USA.

I have the HKS SSQV4, and if you're going to get a BOV, you should get a chargepipe too... It would be pointless to get a BOV by itself unless all you wanted was noise. Chargepipe is prone to popping off on our car and breaking and leaking.

On another note, I love my HKS, I think it's the perfect amount of loud. It's only loud when you want it to be. I'll break down the noise level for you.

In-cabin/ windows rolled up
1-3 PSI Barely noticeable, you won't even hear it really unless you listen really hard. Not audible with radio on.
4-8 PSI You'll hear a little bit, but people on the outside will hear it for sure. Nice little vent, barely heard over the radio.
8 PSI+ nice strong whistle that can be heard in cabin over radio.

With the windows rolled down you can hear it every single time unless you shift ~2PSI. I chose the HKS bc I found that the Tial Q and Synapse BOV was barely audible at all.

If you're going for a nice unique sound, go for the HKS. If you want function go for the Tial Q. Synapse is just a middle ground for sound and function if you can't decide between the two.

Worth mentioning that synapse has a piston system where others have rubber diaphragms that WILL eventually wear and need to be replaced (still cheap but a hassle).

Remove your engine cowl and give the car a spin. The Tial Q's loudness went from a silent 2/10 to a solid 7-8/10 loudness. The DCI's sound great as well. Really lets the sealed engine bays noise come out.

Had my Synapse for a while without any issues. Always leave the cowl off and it sounds good. Not so loud on stock boost though.

I've owned synapse bov, tial q and tial qr...

the synapse was loudest, almost like a bus.

Tial q is quiet and almost impossible to hear with the cowl installed, if cowl is removed you can hear the bov but nothing too pronounced.

I recently change to a tial qr... sound is much louder than the tial q, it sounds like synapse but a tad less sound.

tial q 3/10 loudness
tial qr 6/10
synapse 8/10

keep in mind, your tune plays a big role in sound. Cobb tunes run 19psi where as jb4 runs less boost aka less loud.

Indeed. Brother had a Synapse on his Speed3 and still ended up getting a Tial QR. You're just going to swap whatever you get out for a Tial down the road more than likely anyways.
