I mean this in the nicest possible way- if you like matte black then get it. No point trying to please others when it's your car.

Post up some pics when you've done the work!

Totally agree with Mattyv - Get what you like. Matte's are nice - I have a personal preference for gloss (because I feel like they are easier to maintain). But in the end - its your car and you need to be proud of it!

Take a look at this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=396331

Taymaishu has an AW coupe and is in the same dilemma as you

AlpineWhiteM3E92 has matte black, SBC has pictures of his car with gloss black. Take a look and see which one floats you boat.

If you want my opinion though I personally prefer the gloss. From a distance, matte wheels just sorta look like black holes IMO. At least gloss has a shiny finish to reflect some light.

IMO Matt, but that is for a black car. For a white car gloss might work as there is not black to match.
I run matt black OZ Ultralegerras and they tranformed the look of the car, Black 5 door hatch though.

I know matte black has more of a solid look. although i saw an AW x5 with glossy black and that was nice too.. hence the dilemma!

im going the matte black and will post when im done. thanks!

I think with a black car it is hard to match the black colour and hence the gloss finish might look a little off sometime and hence the matte is a better suit.

However with a white the gloss black does not have to match anything so it is just black.

Good luck and look forward to seeing some photos.

What wheel are you going for?

Like the others, it is a personal preference that you have to go for what you like better!! Just like manual vs auto...

My dealer threw in the BMW "self blacking" option. So far, it seems to be delivering on all the promises the dealer made. Very happy with the setup :-)

That's actually standard on all BMWs, and there's no delete option.

I feel I can chime in to your 1addicts forum here because I have black rims. Honestly, get what you want. If your're feeling matte, then go for it. Gloss looks good though.

..have you thought about pearlescent colours?

I lean towards gloss and damn this looks good.

I've gone with matte kidney grilles to be put on this weekend.

My diffuser is now a slightly gloss/metallic black, so i think gloss black wheels are going to look very nice fitting in with shadow line trim.
