door pins

stupid question
how the hell do you remove that pin(the pin you push to lock/unlock the door)
i try to unscrew.
i try to pull it off.

yes, i did try to unscrew......both of them.
maybe i need a pair of Vise grip.

You can't remove the lock pins from outside - you first need to remove the door card, then the moisture/sound baffle to expose the innards of the door. Then have a look-see with a flashlight - it is connected to the door lock mechanism via a steel rod tha needs to be unhooked then the pin pulls INTO the door and out.

I noticed my driver side door pin sits slightly higher than the passenger side ones when locked.

Is this normal?

Mine seem to be equal height, both sides, all four doors (I have an E87 hatch), locked or open. If the locks are functioning properly, I wouldn't worry too much about it.. But I would imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to "equalize" the height - open up the door and tweak the rod a bit?

There a guy here selling these nice cf pins.
He told me that the pins were screwed.
Good think I try before buying the pins
