DCT Steering Wheel Query
Hi,
My DCT standard m-sport steering wheel has worn out, and I seem to come across alot manual m-sport versions for sale. Am I able to buy a manual steering wheel and remove the back plastic plate with the provision for the paddles from my existing steering and swap that over to the new steering wheel? Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Hash |

No, the steering wheel and backing are one piece. It's integral to the steering wheels structure. Just spend the extra $$ on a DCT ready version. You could get an M3 (1M) wheel as well, as an alternate. Try searching for E92 steering wheels, they are identical (same part number) but more people have a 3 so it should yield more hits. Turner, ECS, Tischer and your local dealer all stock these steering wheels.
To play devils advocate, in theory you could remove the stitching/leather and have the leather wrap from a new steering wheel installed but it's probably easier to just get a new wheel
