Master List of 135i/128i FAQ's - Updates ongoing!

Hey guys/gals, I'm going to try to condense an FAQ list into one post for ease in reading. Alphabetical by subject seemed like a good way to start it off.
I'm certain I've missed many of the subjects that come up frequently so I welcome all suggestions for additions to the list. If you have anything that you think needs to be added, PM me and I'll add it to the list.
My hope is that this list can grow into a very useful resource for all of our members here.

Center Caps, which Tire Rack wheels will accept the BMW center caps?

Sport Edition A7
Sport Edition F10
Breyton GTS-R
Elbrus I02
Elbrus I04
Elbrus I05
Elbrus I06

OE wheels, I want to know about the sizes, offsets, pictures, model numbers etc... on the 128i or 135i

OE wheels, what do they weigh? 24.2lbs front, 26.2lbs rear.

OE wheels, do regular tires work on them, or just run flat tires?
Non-runflat tires work fine on the OE wheels. There is no issue with this.

OE wheels, what are the biggest tires that will fit them?
225/40/18 is the widest size that will correctly fit the front 7.5"wheels and 255/35/18 is the widest correct fitting size for the rear 8.5". The sizes both fit the vehicle with no rubbing.
235/40/18 and 265/35/18 are sizes that will fit the vehicle but they will require a minimum of an 8" wheel in the front and a 9" wheel in the rear.

TPMS, is there a way to disable it?
No

TPMS, what will happen if I don't use TPMS sensors in new wheels and tires?
You will have a light permanently displayed on the instrument cluster telling you the receiver is not getting a pressure reading from the tires.

TPMS, does every car have the sensors and valves installed in the tire/wheel?
No, US models have direct sensors but cars made for sale in various other countries have indirect, ABS mounted, TPM systems (no sensors in the wheels.)

TPMS, do new sensors have to be initialized by the dealer?
No, you can reset the TPMS by yourself on the 1 series. Instructions are in the owners manual.

TPMS, is there a way around it?

TPMS, what do the sensors and valves look like?

TPMS, where can I get the sensors and what do they cost.
You can buy them from BMW or Tire Rack. The Tire Rack cost is $41 for the sensors and $8 for the valves. You do not have to buy wheels and tires to buy the sensors.

TPMS, if use non run-flat tires, what can I use in a pinch if I get a flat?
The Continental Comfort Kit is one popular option.
