I heard they use their own repairers and don't use BMW repair centres, so for that reason I'm out.

The law states that you can use a bodyshop of your choice, regardless of insurance company.

Ensure that the insurance policy covers any optional extras! I know some are cheap because they don't cover and replace any optional extras that are damaged or stolen.. i.e. Performance seats, etc.

Jez could get away with home content insurance cover, rarely does it leave the garage and is more a piece of furniture than a means of travel

Then, he should save the insurance money all together!

There is a theory from a wise old guy that I know (and who never insured any car) that if you don't insure anything and stick with that policy all your life whatever happens, at the end you will save tons of money, despite the fact that sometimes you may loose some.

Since insurance companies always make profit, not us, at the final count he has a good point.

But this may well be the end of material civilization as we know it if we all do things like that, all of a sudden.

Anyone likes that kind of gambling? I for instance didn't insure my 1M for first 2 months and then "they convinced me".

Aussie that's the funniest thing you've said all year, but I'm not worried, as long as it doesn't look like someone's driven it through Halfords front window I'm happy
