Drag Racing?

I've been a lurker around the forums for awhile now and from the looks of it tracking is notorious with the e82 not just the 128i.
So my question is which mods exactly will help you in straight line drag races or street races?
Will tunes with a DISA make you king of the street? Thanks

Wasn't implying to out race a GTR nor Lambos.
And the "king of the street" was simply a joke. If I wanted to be king if the street I wouldn't have bought a 128i as my DD.
But thanks for your input.

The 128 is definitely not king of the street nor will it ever be. But even with stock power it can hold its own at a stoplight. The power the 128 has it can put to the ground nicely. Just the other day I had a kid in a late nineties z28 insist on trying to run me from a light. Btw it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Had clear tails and a huge wing. But I digress. He tried to run me four times at four consecutive lights and lost every time. After that he just hung back and didn't want to pull alongside me again. So power is definitely not everything even in a stoplight run. That z easily has 100hp on a 128 but it does a crappy job putting it to the ground. Couple that with a young kid who can't drive and all you get is spinning wheels and a very sad loss four times over. So even though the 128 is not a power house it is very well balanced. I think the mods you suggested will make it even better. However some good suspension mods are probably more important.

Ah, that sounds quite interesting!
For now everything I have on my car is stock, and I just wanted to be pointed in the right direction with the mods.

I think I'm the only douche on here that has taken their 128i to a drag strip, and it was only cause I'm 15 minutes away from Atco drag strip. I went with my buddy who has a fbo 335xi, so I decided to run too. I got a 14.6. I would venture to say with a tune (I have an n51 so already have the 3stage) and exhaust, Id get a 14.4 if I was lucky. Add the headers, maybe 14 flat. So half a second in the 1/4, or a little over, is a lot, but you'd have to spend big bucks to get there. Thats for an automatic, stick I would guess would be a bit better.

Taking your 128i to a drag strip does not make you a douche.

Camaro z28 with LT1 and Ford Mustang GT 4.6 2V should really be easy for us to beat with a couple mods.

I'm trying to arrange a run with my friends s2000, i've always been curious which is faster. We had a little pull on the highway and it was relatively even but i seemed to pull away a tad.

Believe or disbelieve doesn't really bother me either way. If I was insecure of myself or my driving I would have bought a Shelby GT 500 and not a BMW 128 lol.

I'd say you'd be demolishing them with your tune, stock 125/128 easily keep up even if it's auto.

S2k has a big weight advantage but it also has virtually no torque relative to the n52.
